Large Bluetooth headsets that look like a laptop plugged into your head
shrader replied to inkman's topic in The Aud Club
That’s not what he was asking about in the poll. Of course headphone are different than ear piece guy. -
You’re the self proclaimed Sabre jinx. You need to take one for the team and turn off the tv.
-
Leave and never come back.
-
I don’t remember seeing any changes to it.

Expect the flood gates to open from here. Those people are like vultures. Once your info is out there on a source they can pull from, they all have it. I still get emails based on a resume I posted probably 15 years ago. They never have anything to do with the work I do, but those people will not fill positions unless they try.

Kadri is one mean dude if he can injure McCabe by hitting Nelson.?
-
I had forgotten about that one. But wow, we really have to dig back a long time to find another one. And googling the history, he had the job (AFL) for only three months thanks to the merger. That's quite the tenure right there.
-
I wonder if his status as a former player might impact things as well. There could very well be some CBA issues on this one.
-
Fortunately you should be able to see some immediate results if there is some truth to it.

I'm not really up on my knowledge of the background of pro sport commissioners. Have many had a history in ownership? Selig's the only one that comes to mind and he did transfer his ownership of the Brewers to his daugher before taking the job. So in that case, it definitely stayed in the family.

It seems like it could be a big conflict of interest seeing as how he's a part of the media now, granted he is a team employee. Also, once you walk away from the game, I'd imagine that players would want to avoid doing something that might give them the itch.

I was under the impression that the Dallas portion of your statement only applied if his original waiver period of 10 games/30 days had expired. Maybe that's been tweaked over the years.

And Ovechkin did that right out of the gate, the second he stepped into the league. Beyond that though, it goes right back to the whole Bossy/Gretzky thing, longevity matters too. There's any number of things that could happen to derail Matthews/Laine. They've started well, but only time will tell. -
I'm too lazy to dig up the CBA today, but have they expanded the rules so that the original team (or anyone else who also claimed the player) still has that shot after the waivers have expired (10 games/30 days)? I bet it was a little more common with goalies.
-
Do you have any sense for how often a player gets reclaimed off of waivers by his original team? Nothing is really coming to mind here, but those aren't exactly high profile, attention grabbing moves.

For a full career, yes. I trimmed down Wayne's number to his first 10 seasons, the same number that Bossy played. Like I said, not all that scientific, but I wanted to at least somehow factor in that Gretzky played into the trap era and Bossy's back shortened his career. -
Sabres playing at home at 1PM. Amerks playing in Syracuse at 7PM. I'm not so sure they call up anyone to just sit in the press box.
-
I'm very slow to adjust to this new world where 22 isn't still very young by NHL standards.

I just looked at goals per game. But anyway, looking back at the numbers, Wayne did have more total goals as well. It's not the most scientific comparison, just something I glanced at quickly. And actually, looking back, I accidentally used his one year in the WHA with Edmonton as his first season. Fixing that actually increases Wayne's numbers slightly. -
In classic NHL-style, they're all listed as day-to-day. Rochester has a game Saturday too, so that could impact who they call up, if needed. Would the team rather have the vet (Tennyson) one the ice for the Amerks or the kid (Borgen)? I really don't know which way they'd be leaning.

I'd love to see where Gretzky's number would have been if they hadn't been watered down by playing into the start of the trap era of hockey. If you take his first 10 years and compare them to Bossy's full 10 years, Wayne does come out on top (0.82 vs 0.76). -
He's just there to play. If the injuries don't progress before Saturday, he'll be in the lineup.
