The tax thing is going to factor into the team's argument for a contract, but I'm not sure why the player's ultimately are willing to take that discount. People always want more, it's basic human nature. If I can get $10 million, I still want that number with or without the different tax rates. I can understand a player here or there acceping the lower salary because it helps to build a better team, but to get every single guy to sign up for that? I have no idea how you can manage to get that many people on the same page. I'm a bit surprised that every single elite player on that team doesn't have a no trade or no movement clause.

I've been going authentic for about 10 years or so at this point. I've bought maybe 3 over that time, so I'm not too worried about the price tag. It also helped that my birthday was a couple weeks ago and a few people gave me checks. The quality on these adidas ones is definitely a bit different than my others, which I want to say are CCM, but I'd have to look. It's definitely a bit lighter than the previous ones. It's also cut a bit different and as a result, feels slightly smaller. That'll be one thing to keep in mind for anyone worried about the fit from an authentic. I know you were looking for quality of the replicas, but obviously I can't comment on that.

I'm too lazy to dig up any links, but he was definitely AHL eligible. I seem to remember a quote earlier in the summer from Botterill that they preferred him playing in Barrie instead of the AHL, so that's where he was going. The one thing I'm not completely sure on though is that since he's not subject to the transfer agreement, they should be able to call him up if they really wanted to. It's quite possible that the previous agent was in fact the emu. The new one just called and I quickly find out that the previous one did not bother to do anything with the forms I emailed her the other day. We have a history with them not bothering to process forms. They actually canceled my home owners insurance two years in a row because they never processed a simple form they asked me to sign. So needless to say, once this whole process is done, I'll be shopping for a new company.

We want to get this moving as fast as possible, but the insurance company (Liberty Mutual) doesn't seem to be doing anything at all. As of Tuesday, they still didn't even have the other driver's information (which I gave to them on day one) or the police report. A different agent is dealing with it now that it's totaled, so hopefully she'll be quicker. But so far, she doesn't feel the need to return phone calls.
