It can be fun to pick out these random crazy spots on those maps. The green on Flagg's map is Miami-Indy. I'm too lazy to try to figure out the little cells in New Orleans and Atlanta. Neither town is a division rival. The early Fox game is fun too around the Oklahoma area... Kyler Murray.

That's this week's map. So the answer is Baker Mayfield.

I suppose they could look to upgrade on Rodrigues. That's a bit of an odd spot to target in trade, the 13th forward, particularly if you aren't moving out a forward or two in any of these deals.

Each time I see a nets highlight I feel like I’m watching a hazy black and white screen.

They might be interested because he's the nephew of a guy who played there for 3 years?

Yes, but the days themselves are getting shorter. Over the course of November the sunset pushes back 20 minutes. It's an hour+ earlier than what I would have had it set for in the summer. At some point I need it to turn on earlier than before.

You know what I hate about this time of year? Having to change the time on those crappy light timers. You know, where you raise and lower all the little tabs so that you can have our light turn on/off somewhat close to the actual time you're aiming for. I have one behind a giant piece of furniture that I have to move each time. Then as I reach to plug it back in, I inevitably push in one of the tabs and then have to start all over again. I finally caved the other day and bought a smart plug to replace that time. I think those are a completely unnecessary piece of technology aimed at lazy people, but I'm so sick of moving that furniture, potentially scratching the wood floor and knocking every picture frame down to the ground. From now on, I'm setting that timer on my phone.

I've never been looking at this from a Sabre-only prospective. Me personally, I have no issue if a team wants to fly over a spare skater when they're already at 23, particularly if one or two of those 23 are banged up a bit, but not necessarily IR-worthy banged up. If the league does have restrictions on that kind of travel (if if if if if), I'd hope they have the ability to be a bit more lenient for these international series. See, I'm not trying to suggest something completely unreasonable, like a busload of reserves.

I have no idea how the distance works out, but flying to Sweden would be a different animal because you're losing time as you go that way. You're heading towards a 2PM eastern staring time as opposed to a 10PM starting time on the west coast. I'm mostly thinking here about what what classify as a catastrophic situation. Yeah, you're not going to have 5 guys fall to injury in one game, but I would expect the league to provide a little leeway for these international series to account for it. These are marquee events for the league, so I'd fully expect the league and the PA to work together to make sure the product is maximized. It doesn't even need to be explicitly stated in the CBA, just that the league/PA could agree in case of extraordinary circumstances. I thought there were some restrictions on non-rostered players traveling with the team, but it's been a while and I don't remember the specifics.

Ignore the youngsters, I'm right there with you.

I'd suspect that these european trips are one case where they allow for those non-roster emergency bodies. I'm too lazy to go digging that up, but it makes sense given the circumstances. But then again, even with that emergency body, if you're already at 23, you can't really IR those 2 forwards who have "the flu" and make room to add the emergency guy to the roster.

Looking at that tiny picture on my screen right now, the logo kind of goes right along with it.

That made me curious to see how he's doing. I had no idea that Carolina gave him away to Florida back in February.

There has to be. There's too much potential by disaster if they don't let them bring someone. I could see there even being some crazy local law that would stop them from grabbing a random local emergency goalie, depending on which country they're playing in.

They really need to turn this into some sort of psychological test: what did you see first. And I'll admit it, I saw the puppy first.

My favorite Bills Backer bar experience was the guy who would scream out "that's holding!" on every single defensive play. And he wasn't doing it in a self-aware joking mode, he was dead serious. And just for the hell of it, I'll throw this one out there. The Bills now control their own destiny for home field advantage.?

My neighbor was dressed as Velma last night. I was very disappointed to find out that her husband was not dressed up as Daphne. They dropped the ball on a perfect couple costume.

You've got the order backwards.

What on earth is going on in that second picture? It kind of looks like dino sex, but then there's also one person in the middle and one getting crushed. I guess everyone has their own thing.

Is the kid angry or is it a fist pump? I have no idea.
-
Oh thank god. I was scared there for a second.

It's funny because they actually tried to address it already in the rule book. There's a specific line that mentions the lacrosse move, but they kind of screwed up with it. It's in the section about playing the puck with a high stick, but not the disallowed goal section. I'd have to imagine that this line was added post-Legg.

That and I often find the most active participants in online discussions to be just about the lowest form of humanity... excluding this board, obviously?

Did they call up a forward at any point to cover for the Vesey injury?
