  1. Well here's another one for you.
  2. And Pat played for Nolan for a grand total of 89 games which, other than the short return with the rags, marked the end of his career. How much can he really take away from that. Also, when a guy picks Ted Nolan over a legend like Al Arbour, we're probably very lucky that this guy isn't running our organization.
  3. If there was ever a time for that eating popcorn gif, this is it. I don't know what we're watching here, but I can't look away.
  4. And there's the root of the matter. No matter how poorly people thing of Terry and Kim, they're no Eugene Melnyk.
  5. Even Dea doesn't think that fans would want to take up a collection to pay more money to Dea.
  6. If this view becomes more prevalent around the fanbase, we're going to see a very big push for a certain recently fired coach. I know some may say he's black listed at this point, but I have no real feel for whether or not that's the case.
  7. No, I'm not clicking the play button on that one.
  8. The long awaited Tsujimoto biography?
  9. We reach the bar next year. Is that what I'm waiting for? At least this team will have one record. It's a big topic right now given a certain virus. I think I need to coin a new phrase for this whole charade: Fehr-mongering
  10. I'll just say that I expect him to be here next year, but I can't help but be intrigued by the thought of what an experienced GM would do with the cap space and the upcoming overhaul. It's a near ideal situation for that kind of guy to step into.
  11. My new favorite is the election text messages. I'm as rude as possible when demanding to be removed from the mailing list. My personal favorite was one that said something along the lines of "Dear. <shrader's wife's name>, Candidate X has worked hard fighting for people like you. Can he/she expect your vote on tuesday?". My response: "All that hard work and he/she still can't get my name right". And the best part is that these people will always respond no matter what you say to them. I may have to start asking them if they'll donate some money to my fund to bribe better performances out of pro athletes.
  12. Do you ever try to play along with the scammer and mess with them? Usually they just hang up right away, but the true fun is had when they don't.
  13. I'm late to this party and all I've actually read is the last post and quote. So this team hasn't drafted any impactful forwards outside of the first round during the Boterill regime? What exactly is the definition of "impactful" in that description. To date, not a single player drafted after the first round over those three years has a full season under his belt. 53 is the max career games played for any single player. So you've got, what, maybe 1 or 2 GMs who currently have an impactful player from that time span?
  14. I still stick with my Nigerian prince theory here.
  15. I completely forgot about that one, probably because I never found myself clicking over to that station. Those regional sports channels didn't have enough material to ever catch my eye. A big part of why TBS brought so many people to Braves games is because they had non-sport syndicated shows on during the day. I'm assuming WGN was the same way for the Cubs, but I never had that station.
  16. A network that didn't exist when many of the posters here were kids.
  17. Why can't it be both?
  18. You should probably look up how many teams in NHL history have missed the playoffs 9 years in a row.
  19. The NHL standings are now propaganda. Good to know.
  20. Now if only it was actually two people they pulled out of the crowd. Unfortunately I'm guessing that's too much of a liability.
  21. Did you miss the part where he mentioned who owns the Marlies?
  22. Blue gear and a giant blue maple leaf on the side of his mask? I think it's a safe bet.
  23. Yeah, there's no reason to change it since it's so rare. I can understand the concern about a local guy getting thrown in net against his hometown team, but you just need to run that risk. I get the feeling that the NHL might ultimately consider placing some league hired guy in every town, but eventually shoot it down due to it being a pointless expense. And as for the goalie coach, I thought about that one, but there's bound to be a few out there who are 50+ years old or who have serious health issues.
  24. None of those other sports require the player to wear a unique set of pads to play the position. Goalie equipment is not one size fits all.
  25. Neither has an NHL contract right now, so it’s probably doubtful.
