  1. That's the curse of head to head. I won my fantasy football league this year through consistentcy, but I would have been screwed if the guy in week 1 of the playoffs who put up 182pts repeated that feat (he put up 63pts against me )
  2. I know what you mean, it was risky losing two quality d-men to get Green, but i'm in the same boat as you - if I don't make some moves i'm going nowhere
  3. Just found it funny that I went the exact opposite of your strategy and have amassed IMO the best blueline out there in Chara, Edler, Green and Enstrom. My defense will hopefully outplay the opponent's 4 guys every week, at least in theory
  4. So you're saying picking up Mike Green via trade was a bad idea? :(
  5. I feel your pain, I just got back from vacation and realized that last week i didn't have any players since my trade with nobody went through. still managed to go 6-9. Trying to make some power moves to get ready for the playoff push.
  6. It seems Eleven... I mean Santa Claus is really getting into the holiday spirit this year. Up until we all got coal  Merry Christmas to everyone! enjoy the holiday season with family and friends, and remember to be appreciative of all that you may have, even if a winning hockey team in buffalo is not one of them...
  7. yeah, for having an autodrafted team you have some solid players... ... can I have some :nana:
  8. My complaint for the week is having to be out of town on work the week before christmas. I fly home tonight and really hope i don't get stuck somewhere and not make it home. The worst part is that the company I was going on site to audit didn't have any staff this week since, you guessed it, they were all on christmas vacation. Even though we had contacted them two weeks ago making sure that they would be staffed enough to complete the exam requirements. Waste of my time.
  9. Welcome to team sunshine and rainbows ;)
  10. You think it's the same? I think it is much worse. In years past we could at least score with the rest of the teams in the league while wearing our prada purses on the ice - this year we are soft and ineffective
  11. but do we the get the 2nd round pick or do they?
  12. First time back to the board in a few days and this bad boy of a thread has blown the f*** up. Gotta say I kind of saw that comin' I have long stated on this board that I do not want to watch any player that doesn't play with an edge, willing to play for his teammates and give an honest effort every night. I believe you know where I stand on the Stafford/Roy debate.
  13. I'm glad someone else caught that... I rewound it about three times so that everyone I was watching the game with could understand why I was yelling. My father was under the impression that the goal was a weak one by Miller until I reiterated how much time and space MAG's gave one of the top 10 players in the league by skating 5 feet from the sideboards
  14. Yet the insanity continues. Watching the Pitt game last night I found myself actually yelling at the t.v. at both MAG's for his terrible positioning on a 3v2 rush (he played the entire rush outside the left dot, while Malkin skated right up the middle and scored in the slot) and Stafford for his disinterested play the entire game. I hate playing the 'change must happen now' card, cause we see that far too often here as a knee jerk reaction to a bad game, but this has been going on for a long time.
  15. I never said I needed Shea Weber... not all trades have to be blockbusters ;) P.S. I am ignoring your comedic attempt to send me yet another injured Dman
  16. Sabrespace Gold - Boyes II Men Willing to listen to offers on Brodeur/Pitkanen in order to acquire a Dman. The injuries on the blueline are killing me...
  17. Agreed. Although right now, in order of dislike, my list goes: Roy MAG Stafford Ellis (not that he doesn't try, he should just try in the AHL ;) )
  18. Reading this thread for the first time in a while, and I don't really care for the Toronto talk. I don't even want to consider that since there are other teams around the league that are in worse shape in terms of fan support than we are. I really hope that the team goes to a 4-3 defense with Wannstache (who has actually coached and succeeded in the NFL before) running it. It never made much sense to me that our two best defensive players in K. Williams and Dareus were forced to play out of position all year. The quickest way to turn around a defense is to have dominant D-line play (see Lions, Detroit). Find one pass rushing end in FA (competent, NFL starter) and then you have Carrington - Dareus - Williams - FA with Kelsay coming in on passing downs and Sp. Johnson rotating in the middle. Linebackers up the middle look good with Barnett and Sheppard. I think that is the basis to build off of for a solid defense. Early offensive success was attributed to the interior line play and the running game and short passing possession game. After the Levitre/Wood got blown up by injuries the team didn't have the depth to dominate at that gap. You have to have something that you excel at to succeed IMO. Not keeping Hang as a backup center was a terrible move...
  19. At least the tv networks decided to make the "to watch or not to watch" decision for us by blacking out the game. Saves us all 4 hours of our sunday ;)
  20. Using up my PTO before the end of the year, so I don't have to come into work until Wednesday of next week B-)
  21. Not normally a fan of tye dye stuff, but if done correctly, this could turn out pretty sweet. Make sure you get the right color shades B-)
  22. post #6000 on page 300 is a four worder about cold sores. Irony?
  23. I concur. I find myself checking the board every 30 seconds hoping there is some big breaking news. Sadly, no such luck.
  24. So you're saying I have to downgrade to a 52"? And 3D tv's are for hipsters. I don't see the point...
