You CAN'T give the Canes that last pass. Let them keep skating it around wherever. But that cross ice pass can't happen. -

Nice job on the 2 on 1 by Dahlin. -

In their own end they definitely were. They were blocking a lot of shots and not giving the Canes the opportunity to make those cross ice passes through the slot that have worked in the past against the Sabres. But that came at a price - MAYBE 3 high danger chances in the entire 20 minutes. -

Other than the hold non-called when Peterka got mugged (which led to Tuch's goal), what penalty on the Canes was missed in that stretch? Sabres have to clean up the ticky-tack plays that they're giving the refs the opportunities to call. -

That HUGE save by UPL off the rush on the PP allowed that Tuch goal to (hopefully) be a momentum changer. That was UPL's best save as a Sabre. -

Correct. He got a bad break on the deflection. He got a bit of a break on the breakaway in that Drury didn't do his homework - skate it in close and then when UPL stops moving shift wide hard and lift it over him is the book there. He got to the high slot and tried to blast it through him. UPL stood tall and made a nice save. Was hoping that would pick them back up, but Olofsson with the bad penalty killed any chance for that. UPL is playing fine so far. The team is skating well. Need to find a way to beat Raantta. Win the 2nd and then it's anybody's game the last 20. -

But they so rarely wear their throwbacks with the CCCP across the front. Now THOSE were classic. -
Was about to say basically the same thing. Want nothing to do with that sort of a trade for an established player. The Sabres have plenty of prospects and future picks to restock the pipeline. They need to start turning up the intensity now, not in a few years. Been there, done that.

Granato says goalies will rotate; Levi learned from the "grind"
Taro T replied to PASabreFan's topic in The Aud Club
Levi did not look good against Calgary. Not sure how much of that was the injury and how much of it was getting ground down to a pulp playing an absolutely unreasonable 4 games over a mere 8 days. 😵💫 Presuming UPL doesn't pitch a SO tonight, am very interested in seeing how Levi looks against the Wild. They're scoring just about 4/game but giving up close to 5/ as well. (At least on paper they seem to be a bad Loafs this year.) Thought he played very well against the Loafs even though he did give up 4 to them. Hoping UPL plays well tonight. Expecting that the Canes are going to be the team to beat in the East even though they're off to a rather slow start. -
Granato says goalies will rotate; Levi learned from the "grind"
Taro T replied to PASabreFan's topic in The Aud Club
People were screaming that 4 games in 8 days broke him. It's 3 in 5 every week in the AHL. (Actually for 4 of the next 5 weeks its only 1 or 2 in the AHL each week, too.) Leave him in Buffalo and give him the games against the better puck moving teams and give UPL the games against the teams that are more offensively challenged. He'll end up with Grant Fuhr type numbers, but like Grant he'll win more often than not. We can live with that. -

So if the goalies are "rotating" that puts UPL between the pipes tonight, right? Not a fan of that. Carolina gets a lot of movement wth the puck and UPL is better suited to N-S attacks. D needs to be really active taking away the backdoor and the cross ice passing. If they can, UPL might not need that horseshoe. (But still, much like Linus with his security blanket, hope he remembers it.) Hopefully the horseshoe is firmly wedged up his you know what and Halak spits the bit in presumably his 1st start of the year. -
He didn't after the earlier concussion.

Couldn't find anything in the CBA stating that he had to be returned to the Sabres before getting sent back to Juniors. (But didn't look closely at the Articles discussing living arrangements & the like when players are loaned.)
-
Because when those 2 are both on the ice, the PP becomes even more stationary than it currently is. They also become very poor at recovering loose pucks. It makes it very easy for the defenders to shut it down.
-
Adding Tuch. Adding Greenway.
-
Considering he once refused to play for the Sabres when he actually WAS a Sabre; really doubt he was on Adams' radar.
-
The 5 game thing wasn't a thing. (He played in 6 games in Ra-cha-cha.) The 5 game limit to a conditioning loan (3 games + an extra 2 games if requested) only pertains to BF-LTIR conditioning loans. Savoie's was an ordinary conditioning loan which maxes out at 14 days.
-
It looks like he's pressing when he actually draws into a game and nothing good comes from that. It starts becoming a negative feedback loop. He either needs to get a couple of lucky goals in a single game or btb's or a change of scenery. Don't see either as highly likely at this point in time.
-
Yep. Doubt anyone becomes available until close to the trade deadline. And by that point, either Adams will feel vindicated by the 3 headed monster or there likely won't be much point to giving up the assets it would take to bring in a rental to supplant what they already have. (In Adams' eyes in any case.)

3 F's out. (Quinn Cozens, Benson) 4 if you include Biro (personally don't, but to each their own). And even with 3F's out, they can still keep Olofsson in the pressbox.
-
And just like that, Bryson becomes a footnote. Wonder if they'll actually use RJ2 with Dahlin tomorrow or if they'll go back to Dahlin-Jokiharju; Power-Clifton; and J&J? Will be interested to see how they line up in the morning skate tomorrow.
-
NOT for another 3-ish weeks or 8 more games. He already cleared waivers when he was sent to Ra-cha-cha the 1st time. Because apparently Biro is injured. They don't need to send Rousek down and the Amerks don't play again until Friday. Why bother sending him down?
-
It was either recall today or send him back to Junior. Couldn't see them sending him back to junior at this point. Wonder what Biro's injury is?
