Nobody (should) sing along to the only woman who was more full of herself than Mariah Carey. My 2 cents. YMMV. -

Good point. Other players can score on the road. 😉 -

Any chance Mitts can score all the 280 goals they'll score this year or at least get credit initially for all 280? 'Cause some of these choices are ... not good. (And with all due respect Liger, Skinner's choice is even worse than last year's. At least that had a bit of whimsically to it.) -
IF this was the last year of his contract (have seen conflicting reports, it might've run through next year) you don't wait until the season is going well to extend the coach because he becomes an UFA as soon as the contract expires. If you want to maintain control of the decision whether to bring him back or not, he'd darn sure better be under contract for at least 1 more year.

Or, the message might simply be that early on they'll get a comparable # of starts with Comrie taking Edward's role & facing the stiffer competition & Anderson assuming Sauve's role against the weaker competition. Really hoping Comrie proves out, because doubt Anderson can give them any more than 25 quality starts & probably no more than 20.

Think Dubas will have had time to send Murray down by then? 😉

Goaltending remains this organization’s biggest question mark.

Regardless of whether he bolts they should draft another goalie somewhere in rounds 3-7. Even if Portillo signs he could be an afterthought w/in the 4 years+ it'll take for that goalie to see whether he deserves a shot in the NHL or not. -
It's all part of Granato's plan to keep the Otters guessing. Everybody, including the Otters know Comrie should be the better goalie but that Anderson will likely get the start due to his history as an Otter (Trivia, that being the actual reason Anderson shaves his head, as a result of what Ottawa feeds their Otters on game days they all grow fur EVERYWHERE and Craig found it easier to just shave everything each morning rather than estimate where the hairline should be. True story.) and Donnie is playing into that. Will he go off-board, or stay pat, only the Dunleavy (& Mike Bales & the 2 goalies) knows for sure. 😉

Has anybody checked on Paul Bissonette?

If it's any consolation to your Loaf fan "buddy," Jack Campbell is finding his inner Matt Murray essence for the Eulers. Nucks 2 Eulers 0 2:40 into the 1st.

Why, because presumably the advertisers that buy rinkside ads do so expecting their ads will be seen by the local TV audience for ~1/2 of the team's televised games. And they aren't getting 18,000 pairs of eyeballs on them but 10 or so times that. These computer generated ads are superimposed on the in-rink ads, not over some random fan faces behind the nets nor on some of the little open white ice that is left.Really curious how much less expensive they are this year versus prior years.

Would all the Wile E. Coyote Supra Geniuses predicting the Loafs to win the East and make the Finals mind please telling us who their goalie that gets them there will be. 'Cause is sure as #### isn't Matt Murray.

Lock 'em up early or later? Risk / Reward says sign early
Taro T replied to JoeSchmoe's topic in The Aud Club
Personally believe that if you trust your hockey department you lock up the kids you determine are key pieces. -
Believe Habs Loafs is a national game. But am also watching the Canes BJs game which is DECIDEDLY NOT national & they have the computer generated ads too.
-
The digital ads are definitely computer generated and not led's in the signs. And my question about whether it's national TV only or regional broadcasts too was answered. Regional are showing them too. Wonder how much of a price break the in rink actual advertisers are getting versus past seasons as their audience is much smaller now.

Of course there's risk. Nobody has said there isn't. But there is also risk in management preaching there's a right way of doing things and then not following up on that themselves. And it isn't just the risk of Samuelsson getting a lot more $'s in a year. There is also a risk to the culture should management come across as merely giving character lip service as a virtue. And if management loses the room, they aren't getting it back. That risk may be small, but it isn't negligible. And combining that w/ how much more he might get in a year, the risk is worth taking. Again, IMHO. And, you don't seem to be lending that risk any weight at all.

Considering Dahlin had been trending down can see where Adams & Ras would not be on the same page for what his LT value was a year ago. Can also see where w/ where the world (& Sabres particularly) was at in regards to the shutdowns, non-hockey related reasons for why they might've been reluctant to give him what he wanted. Personally, had hoped they'd've given him an 8 year deal, but can see reasons why they couldn't get it done. In order to get a deal, both sides have to find a # that works for them. It's clear they see Dahlin as a huge part of the future. His not getting a LT deal shouldn't IMHO get chalked up to any more than bad timing. Had THIS been his 4th year, rather than his 5th, he certainly would have a LT deal in pocket. Again, IMHO. But their not getting a longer deal w/ Dahlin should NOT be a reason for not locking up Samuelsson & other young guys that have been identified as key pieces moving forward.
