Well, last time a game was rescheduled, the buyer was able to return the tickets to my account. So, yours truly was stuck w/ the tix. Annoying, but it was what it was EXCEPT Ticket Master forgot to reset the barcodes and we couldn't get into the building. Had to wait for an usher to escort us to Guest Services & after about 15 more minutes of screwing around finally got allowed in after the game had already started. So would really rather the Detroit game not get rescheduled so as to not have to find out what interesting hoops that would entail jumping through.

Which is fine & dandy, but would like to have one sooner than he'll be showing up. And if they're giving up assets for one would want to know he's at least a Poor Man's Samuelsson.

That, the Yotes want a small fortune to part w/ him, & he's a Poor Man's Dahlin when what the Sabres need is another Samuelsson. That said, if his price came down wouldn't mind him in B&G.

On the plus side, there's a real good chance Power will be back & Comrie & Jokiharju will be all that much closer to healthy whenever they get to play again. Heck, Lyubushkin could be fully healthy too. We may never see Pilut in a Sabres uni again. 😉

We couldn't do our normal trip in to hang w/ family tonight, but the kids are home & we did a turkey dinner tonight & the tradional steak dinner is set for dinner on the day of days. Not sure what is on the itinerary except watching the Fish try to miss the playoffs. Hard to believe the whole division was above 0.500 about 4 weeks ago. Loo,ing forward to the Sabres getting back to it.

Good post. Still expect there's a good chance Comrie turns it around when he gets back. If he doesn't and UPL can't continue his unlikely play of the last 2 games fully expect Adams to be in the goalie market this offseason regardless of Levi & Portillo's decisions. And fully expect whomever they bring in to be a bit of a head scratcher (like targeting Murray was) but between Bales & the analytics team am hopeful they get it right even though the track record under Adams to date leaves a lot to be desired.

We lost power for about 7 hours. Not a major issue, can heat the house w/ wood & did, but took forever (well, literally hours) to get the generator started because it was so cold. One thing those pushing for all electric power generation/usage don't think about is when the power goes out you aren't heating your house nor are you recharging your car's battery.

He isn't setting out to go w/ the cheapest option. Murray wasn't particularly cheap. Fully expect that if neither Comrie nor UPL show they can backstop a contending team that a new starter will be brought in this summer. But unless he gets a deal he simply can't walk away from it isn't happening during this season.

Thanks for the updates. Tried to DVR the game but lost power for 7 hours and had issues firing up the generator for a few of those. (So cold, the pull starter rewind spring wouldn't rewind it. Took a LONG time to rewind it poking a couple of screw drivers through the guard & then took several pulls to get it to actually fire.)

You all have pretty much covered it. IMHO, out of those items cited there are 2 main drivers towards that & 1 item that hasn't been mentioned. The 2 that have is 1, Thompson gets himself basically a tap in before he shoots if it isn't a 1 timer. That moving the puck around the goalie to an open net has a crazy high shooting percentage. The other is the puck movement they get before shooting. How many times has Peterka sent a rocket into an open side of a net before the goalie can get there. That was the way Cozens got the goal that got his goal scoring rolling & there have been several others who've scored those types of goals. The one that wasn't mentioned (or missed it if it was said earlier) is they're leading the league in EN goals. By definition, if they get a shot off on an empty net, it is a goal. It doesn't count as a shot if it goes wide or is blocked by a defender. So, on 11 (IIRC) shots they were guaranteed a goal as soon as it was officially on net. If they've had 900 shots (likely 30 shots/game over 30 games give or take), then 1.2% of them were automatic.
