There is definitely something wrong with Jack Edwards. Haven't heard him cry about a single call against the B's nor any missed calls against the Sabres. When you lose your calling card, something's off.

Always hear it as an homage when Dunleavy does that rather than a rip off. And personally like hearing that "blast from the past." (As a kid, never could figure out how he knew where everybody in the crowd was from. Didn't catch on to the joke until later. D'oh!)

When Levi's in we'll love 'em. When he's not, jury's still out.

If he's up, he's taking Olofsson's spot in the top 9. Whether that be on Thompson's W, Cozen's W, or Mittelstadt's W don't know. But Olofsson can't be happy about the way he's playing.

IF he does earn making this squad, it'd go a long way towards making them a true 3 scoring line team like they would've been had Quinn been healthy. Love the thought of getting to watch him play the next 8 or so years.

Agree that the plan was to send Benson back to Whereverthefrigitistheynowplayin, WA but if he flat out earns a spot, can't see him sending him back. Goes against the grain of the character he's trying to build and demonstrate.

People were talking about Edwards sounding off last year. (Refuse to watch the NESN feed of anything if there are ANY other options, so don't know how far off he was.) Hoping he doesn't have the disease that Ted Darling had. He caught a lot of flack for sounding drunk on mic though it couldn't have been further from the truth.

Pretty sure the Sabres website isn't showing the game. It's on MSG (well, the NESN broadcast is on MSG).

Considering the MSG feed is the NESN feed, yep, if you get the game picked up by SN you'll be getting the NESN feed. Unless the seats are really good (and a corner 21 rows up probably doesn't qualify) $25 is a tough sell for a preseason game. $20 seems to be a price point that will get you better results. (He says probably 3 minutes before your seasts sell for $25 each. LOL)

Guess we're losing Austin Powers as a Sabres fan. (Yes, realize his alter ego is actually a Loafs fan. It's a friggin' joke.)

On 1st glance appears Kulich is getting the short end of the stick, but until Tuch became a day of scratch, Kulich was going to get an opportunity with Mittelstadt and Tuch.

And that was probably in his win vs Buffalo that year. 😉

It definitely will be hard. Which is why the expectation is 103 and not 123. But, should they get to 103, and that is very doable provided at least 1 of Comrie or UPL isn't the same tire fire as last year and it's still doable if they are exactly what they were last year but there is no margin for error to get to that mark, they WILL be in the playoffs. Convert 4 regulation losses from last year into W's and another 4 into OT/SO losses and they're at 103. Very realistic levels of improvement.

True. But the Sabres only need to get ahead of 1 of the Bruins, Lightning, Panthers, or Islanders while staying ahead of Ottawa, Detriot, Pittsburgh, and Washington. Expecting they should get ahead of 2 of those 4 (NYI & 1 other, not sure which other right now) while staying ahead of at least 3 of those 4 (Karlsson MIGHT be able to will the rest of the over the hill gang through to one final playoff run, but don't expect it; the Otters will be a challenge. But as long as the Sabres get ahead of 2 of those 4 ahead of them, getting passed by the Otters isn't the end of the world should it happen.) Personally am expecting the Sabres to be 3rd in the division or the WC1. But we shall see soon enough.

If Vancouver Island White Caps count he is. Otherwise, not so much.

IF Benson makes it out of camp (not a given, but a realistic possibility), could see them keeping Savoie around at least until his shoulder is healed and he gets a legit shot to make or not make the team. He could get the conditioning assignment to the Amerks and if he shows he should be a level higher than that could get his shot in Buffalo. As long as he doesn't get into a 10th game with the Sabres, it wouldn't matter as far as his ELC is concerned and the extra player getting carried wouldn't affect the team's ability to stay under the cap either.
