  1. McDermott didn't deserve those three points.
  2. Down by seven, Ravens score a TD, but then go for two. Try fails. Steelers win by one. Must've felt like our game against the Titans.
  3. No, that's called "future reconsiderations" 😉
  4. Bengals, down 24-0, drive for a beautiful throw-and-catch TD. Line up to go for 2. Don't like the look, so they take a timeout. Line up again for 2, but confusion leads to a delay-of-game penalty (and an audible curse word.) Move back and opt for the PAT attempt. Shank it wide. 💩
  5. 2 1/2 periods ... that's a new record for "losing his love for the game."
  6. I was pretty sure that Krebs already had an assist on the board when I mentioned the one earlier. Then, he got one on each of the last two goals. During the Three Stars announcements, they said that he had four assists. However, it does say three assists on TheAHL.com. Weird. Edit: in the play-by-play, it does show assists on four goals.
  7. And now 1st Amerk, 2nd in the league to reach 10 goals.
  8. Tough watching choice tonight. Both teams doing well (4-1). My eyes are getting whiplash going from my laptop to my TV and back. Amerks facing more pressure at the start of their third.
  9. The first one was bad, but on the second one, his arm was hit as he was throwing. Timing was bad, but it wasn't just a bad throw.
  10. I watched the Amerks (AHLTV) on my TV and just the Sabres box score on my computer. Happy with my choices.
  11. And ... I'm out ... (For this game, not the season.)
  12. Davis clearly slipped as he broke in. Weather has had more effect on the Bills.
  13. I meant as far as goalies in the system. This year is more about development than their NHL goalies.
  14. #1 priority this season is developing UPL in the AHL to see if he can progress towards the NHL. Making sure that your 32-year-old third-string NHL goalie stays active by playing down there is of minimal concern. If this were a serious year in the parent club, that would be a different story. UPL getting playing time >>>>> the occasional Sabres loss when the backup's backup if forced to play. Now, if you want to argue that UPL is getting too many starts in too few nights (I'm not saying that he is), then that would be a better reason (this season) for Dell to get more starts.
  15. Given the rules of the lottery at the time, tanking for last got you two things: 1) The highest chance of drafting the truly generational player, McD, at 20% (i.e., 4:1 against getting him.) 2) Worst-case scenario of a likely elite-level talent center in Jack. If the only worthwhile prize was McDavid, then they were setting yourself up for disappointment, as it was still very unlikely to happen, even finishing last. Either player should have been a major benefit, which along with the acquired draft capital if properly managed, should have put them in a good position. As others have said, there needed to be a patient and effective drafting and development process, later supplemented by key trades, to see that through. They got none of that.
  16. I thought that was going to be the Titans game this year. Clearly, it did not have that effect. Hope you're right about this one.
  17. Watched the game on delay. Damn, that was the most frustrating loss that I've ever seen. The defense was more than fine against a pretty poor opposing offense. Still should have been able win it despite a terrible offensive performance. They just needed one single drive like they've put up four or five of almost every game to win it outright, or even just a halfway decent one to tie it, but between penalties, poor o-line protection and Josh brain-fart storm, sadly that was too much to ask for.
