  1. Past hour
  2. Benson is not a pure passer/playmaker but he can create offense, which is why he has so many assists right now. I am suggesting our top 6 is below average, as you saw against Montreal, and we need a playmaking center to maximize what Tage can do, which is finish plays, not create them. I also saw Benson play on other lines in an effort to get offensive zone time for the other lines.
  3. Think we might get Bo back too. Dodgers are obviously the favourite, be real. Defending champs. Ohtani. They’re the Dodgers. But pressure and expectation can be a *very* funny thing in sports. The situation at large definitely benefits the Jays imo. Their offence also frankly *has* been better than everyone else’s this postseason, including the Dodgers, and by a not insignificant margin. Vladdy the best hitter on the planet right now. Ohtani and Vladdy, Dodgers vs Jays, World Series game 1, Rogers Centre. Honestly, as Jays fans, we’ve already won. Now go get 4 more.
  4. No worries. I took it as an open question to all Yankee fans.
  5. Dodgers just too good...probably win in 4 or 5...6 max most likely.
  6. I didn’t mean you specifically, but I could see why you would respond because the posts were back to back. 😊
  7. what are you getting for him? Regardless of what you think of him defensively, you would be losing an elite puck moving defensemen who has repeatedly been among the best in the NHL at generating transition offense from his own zone with stretch passes thru the neutral zone setting up counters and odd man rushes going back to his rookie season.
  8. I just don't see it with Byram. What I see in him is a player with above average to very good raw skill, but he only executes it to an average-to-slightly above average level. I equate him to the defense version of what Cozens is/was at forward. Lots of skill...looks good doing it...but the execution just isn't there. I just put Bryam a bit higher than Cozens because he doesn't kill you with as many boneheaded plays. But overall for me he's still in the "looks like a Ferrari, Drives like a Camry" category.
  9. Literally no use for UPL. It's time for moving on! Lyon is more than capable until you find a bonafide #1 that can steal games for you! If they just start him after the stint in Rochester... they are even more worthless than I thought!
  10. To me its probable that the new GM is Jarmo. The reason he is on the payroll now is so he can be closer to the team and is alread starting his roster evaluation.
  11. I don’t hate the Dodgers because they have more financial resources to attract and sign free agents nor are the Yankees my favorite team for six decades because they can do the same. I certainly understand why others could hate teams for that reason, but until baseball implements a fairer system, it’s naive to think big market, big money teams won’t continue to do just that. The Dodgers and Yankees didn’t create the unfair system and I certainly don’t blame free agents for making what they can when they can. Ironically, those 1990s Yankee championship teams were largely comprised of farm grown talent, like the core four of Jeter, Posada, Rivera, and Pettite for example. We can add with Bernie Williams to the list as well.
  12. I don’t think moving him now, if we get a decent D back, hurts the defense at all since Power is inept in the D zone. Byram made Power expendable and Mtrka will likely made Byram expendable. This whole plan of 6 fast puck moving D was a joke the day it was formulated. We need guys who can actually play defense. Maybe Kesselring is one of the those guys. I hope he is.
  13. What are the easy ways? As mentioned previously you also have 3 'bottom of the roster' guys who are up. Whether you resign them or replace them with bargain basement guys, you are still looking at $3-$5m for those guy sbefore you even get to Tuch, Benson, Doan, and Kesserling.
  14. Let him stay down there Let me tell you about Maxine!
  15. See, anchors can be a good thing
  16. Should have been done this summer. Byram is the better player and should be anchoring the 2nd pair. We could probably get 3 pieces for him, maybe a stay at home D to pair with Byram or Dahlin, a Doan type young player and a 1st. (Basically the JJP trade with a 1st except a more proven D than Kesselring).
  17. Don't think we should trade him before we've seen how he plays with Kesselring. He or Byram is the player that should bring us a tenacious forward. Sad thing is that Matthew Schaefer probably already is better than him.
  18. Baseball has no puck or goalie What a complete waste of time
  19. Stranger things have certainly happened, so I have hope.
  20. I watched and he was awful defending. In our own zone and in transition. So were byrum and samuelson. 3 of the 6 dman were really bad. Pinned in our own zone so much due to it.
  21. Lol underdog role AND home field? Got them right where we want them
  22. Dahlin is one of the best players in the league. The only thing we are doing is wasting his prime that after ALL this, and all these years, we still have folks in the “I don’t wanna blame the best player but I’m gonna blame the best player” camp is just willful ignorance or lack of understanding of how hockey works. These same people will argue Eichel isn’t full marks for his cup win and leading the playoffs in points because he was added to a team that was “already good”. they just don’t get it and seemingly never will
  23. Good question. I’d take Metsa over Bryson, but hard to evaluate one game. I’d prefer to try one of the Russians over both.
  24. Today
  25. Maybe they are going to keep exposing Jones to waivers until someone claims him. Maybe there are too many players named Zac on the team for Ruff to keep track of. I expect they are making room for Greenway.
  26. Hate the dodgers however I’m a national league. I’m a lifelong Giants fan always hate LA
