Say what you will about him... but Adams never missed a QO deadline with a jammed fax machine or anything. Hasn't just let an entire RFA wave walk to market. So he's got that going for him.
-
Free Agent Frenzy: “Where will the greatest LWer to ever play the game, Generational Superstar Nic Ehlers sign today? Please tune in guys”
-
My understanding is that this trade was a cosmetic transaction to avoid tampering charges.
-
Well, it did and it didn't with Zucker. He was one of their best forwards last year (definitely in the top 4 or so). But the team still fell further back from the playoffs than they were either of the 2 prior years. So, on a microlevel it worked. On a macro level, at best it was too little.

5pm Eastern today

Anyone hoping for Adams to be able to play in free agency with the 2nd-tier wingers (like Ehlers)... the big fish are already off the market. Ehlers now is the 1st tier UFA.
-
So, what is the deadline for QOs?
-
Good for Provorov. I suppose you're wirth what you can get BUT I don' think he's worth that. 30 minutes, what's up Kevin? Come back from that walking trail in Clarence and get to the office.
-
I think Toronto was the only team that could sign an 8 year deal with him.
-
Look at the bones, man!
-
Who knows what’s in the new CBA, but there has to be legitimate medical reason for that to happen. They’re not planning for that.
-
It really feels like this front office has no clear plan or idea what they're trying to achieve

Chad D: expect a Byram trade at or around the draft
kas23 replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
I mean, Bolduc potted 19 goals last season at played at 0.5 PPG pace, all at the age of 22. No way we would get both Bolduc and Parayko. Maybe Parayko is a salary dump. Cap hit $6.5M. -
And apparently there was a weird and really late trade.
-
So, this conversation started when I said Marner must be pursued, to which you replied with all the reasons why Marner wouldn’t sign. So I asked you to clarify if KA should pursue Marner, which led to you listing more reasons why Marner wouldn’t accept. You still haven’t suggested whether or not KA should take a swing. You’ve only offered excuses to why it might not be successful. Whatever Grandma Marner. Your little one is safe from Sabres gloom.

Run JBD, run! Flee for your career!
-
How do we KNOW there wasn't some communication? Because nobody is reporting that the Loafs are threatening the Sabres with tampering unlike the way they're threatening the Kin-ig-hits. He is STILL under contract and is a Loaf until midnight tonight (barring a really weird late trade). Other GMs can't reach out to him until he's a FA.
-
Fair and hope you're right. I think he'll have a lot of suitors and as Adams said, "overpaying to get a player typically doesn't work well." So, the Buffalo technique is to wait and see who falls through the cracks. It worked out well with Zucker last year.
-
In summer 2024, they didn't qualify Bryson, then signed him the next day. JBD could follow suit, unless... you know... he doesn't want to be here.
-
Let's hope so. The guy played well last season and turned out to be a major piece of a big trade. If they let this guy walk, they are truly the imbeciles that we all believe them to be. And yes, Bryson continues to be a head scratcher. He's fine as a 7th-8th D-man and has played some decent minutes here and there, but there was no reason to lock him up when they did (early) and how they did (one way contract). I'd be OK with re-signing him at the price that they did AFTER the draft, free agency, etc. If they still needed a 7th-8th D-man at that time, he would have been fine. What was the hurry?

The Pegula tool box is small and tightly held. Creativity and imagination are not stored in this tool box,

Hey Ivan it’s Jarmo any interest in signing with the Sabres on 7/1? Ivan: This is sarcasm of course
-
Why wouldn't he be willing to sign a new contract roughly a year ago but be willing to sign one now? Because he wanted to see what he's worth on the open market and that wasn't possible a year ago. Heck, Stamkos several years back took TB into the tamper period before re-signing with him because he wanted to know what he was worth on the open market and wanted to know that what he was getting offered by Tampa was fair. These guys typically only get 1 (2 tops) chances to find out what they're truly worth. If he was open to being a Sabre one year ago, why wouldn't he still be open to it. Surely @Sabres Fan in NS still shouts that he should sign in Buffalo any time he goes back for a Junior team reunion, right? So the bug is there in his ear already. 😉 Just need Adams to make an offer he'll consider worth accepting and have Kekalainen work his Gaudreau magic convincing him Buffalo is the place to be. And after Winnipeg all those years, it HAS to look good, right? 😉

Not if he LTIRetires right?
-
Or they just get something done with Bernard Docker anyway. They’ve had a few of these the last few years. Hell, the whipping boy Bryson wasn’t qualified last year.
