Former season ticket holder here. I started my home game boycott after the "solution is in the room" speech last season. I don't want to do it but for me to attend games I have to travel to Buffalo and my expenses are much more than just the cost of the hockey tickets. Otherwise I would have met up with you and the rest for the game this season. I still visit Buffalo often but going to that arena and paying for that product is not worth it. When I see a tangible semblance of a Sabres organization on the right track I will be back. I will be happy to pay more to support a team that cares about their fans.

Great to hear about Power, he should be "fingers crossed" ready for Thursday
-
Mike Schopp stopped by our tailgate yesterday and we were talking about how soon the Sabres season will get derailed. If Buffalo does not have a decent record by end of November (lots of winnable games IF they are going to be a playoff team), we both thought the season would spiral.

In a small market like Buffalo? Don't think so Buffalo loves their Sabres, though
-
The NHL Regular Season kicks off with an Triple Header tonight

Good to hear this but keep in mind Buffalo is a college town loaded with NYC metro and Long Island students. The price of tickets is ridiculously cheap for them. Looking forward to the game anyway. As always.
-
My kids still enjoy going to games, I will take that for as along as possible
-
I really do respect your opinion and you are one of my go to posters when I visit the board, but man you are like a reformed smoker.😉

It sure seems that Adams loves to work on, 5/6/7/8 defenders, fourth line forwards, and backup goalies. Could that be why they don't get better?
-
The tire pumpers are in midseason form. So the rest of the season will be sold out?
-
True, but I got tired of seeing those 3 having to drop them and no one else (accept maybe Clifton) and certainly no follow up (see Noeson and Thompson). Ruff wants to carry a tough guy, yet he didn't put Gilbert on the ice after Thompson got nailed, he wanted to score a goal. That was fine, but Gilbert bever even got a shift after that. Why carry Gertie if that is how he is going to use him?
-
Tuch was chipper at the autograph signing event, chatting up fans, etc.
-
We're slacking off getting out message out there. Would you rather they win or be right?
-
It's almost like the couldn't get him to sign a PTO, so they paid him a year's salary to essentially be on one.

The Hopium Den: 10 reasons why the Sabres could be better this year

I've read mixed reviews of Jack Quinn's pre-season, so I thought I'd add Marty Biron's take from Sabres Live last week: Marty said that after watching him practice for a few weeks, he's flat out predicting 30 goals. -

Power is skating in a non contact jersey and Alexandar Georgiev is not on the ice. On waivers perhaps?
-
Right now we have 4 players on IR - Greenway, Power, Kesselring and UPL Who goes when they come back? Our extra players are 2 goalies (Ellis and Georgiev), 2 forwards (Geeraten & Kozak) and arguably 1 D if we keep only 7 D in Buffalo (Bryson or Johnson) If I were making the decisions: Greenway in for Kozak Kesselring in for Georgiev Power in for Bryson UPL in for Ellis

Buffalo loves their Sabres. It's that simple You don't have to be a winner to get loved by your fan base
-
Wasn't going to spend any time worrying about a Tuch deal until the even of the regular season. (Checks calendar)

I think they can thank Josh Doan for this is. Kid was working that Tim Horton's drive-thru window hard.

As others have said, Ranger games sell well. I don’t expect them to do well with tickets till the team starts winning. A couple of things, though. 1) while Buffalo gets a lot of heat for it, opposing fans making up 25% of the crowd has become the norm around the league in roughly 80% of the building. It’s in large part a function of the ease of getting tickets on the secondary market, although there are other factors. 2) I understand all the pessimism but my point was that it’s not as universally felt as some people tend to believe. 3) Last year I sold roughly 100 tickets at, or above cost. At least half of those to Sabre fans. I also know that at least half those Sabre fans are as pessimistic as anyone on this board. However, people still like to go for a multitude of reasons.

It might get to the point where the Sabres have to actually pay people to attend. And even then, demand might be low.

ok but maybe they are rewarding players for winning. I don't know but they win and we don't. Hard to compare them to us
