Does the team's performance warrant treating rookies in this way... if that's what's going on?? The performance of rookies is one of the few bright spots.

Have you watched the Podcast with Rhett Warrener? They think Rob Ray would make a great POHO a person who can set culture, hire good GM, hire good coaches.

As is the bit where I mentioned how Adams came upon the job - by firing a bunch of people even Botterill would rather *quit a rare and valued GM job for* than axe. It’s actually possible to have standards and gather the measure of a man. Or at least my opinion of such. Adams is a slime ball. The way he took the job was offensive. The way he conducts business is offensive. The way he speaks to the fans is condescending and belittling. He’s a fraud. “Yes man”? Try: enabler. Purely interested in promoting the strategy that levies him the most job security personally. Fostered THE worst environment player wise we’ve ever seen, as evidenced by the stick salute fiasco that was proof of the willing disenfranchisement of fans. He’s crafted a roster I despise due to his infecting presence. his presence alone tarnishes the crest to the point of it being unrecognizable to me. Swept in the first round? Who - Adams? Who cares. The sabres existed before him and will exist after. He’s not the Sabres. It’s time for him to say goodbye.

It’s futile to predict what this unreachable owner will do. My opinion/ suspicion is that there will be a change sometime soon. It seems to me that having Jarmo hovering in the system makes it possible if not probable. Just my guess?????

That's a good start. Then, if we don't get a new owner in name, we need a new owner in practice. He has to be smart enough to realize it. Please, dear Hockey Gods.

Adams, the entire front office, the entire scouting staff, and even strength and conditioning coaches need to be fired. And Jarmo better not be GM. We’ve seen his work in Columbus and it isn’t good.

Is Jarry a starter or is he just having the good month that goalies sometimes have? He was waived a year ago and any team could have claimed him. I think prior to his recent nice run, he was more or less viewed as an older and more expensive Stuart Skinner. The best I can really say is that the Oilers are at least going to try something else.

That's what I was thinking. I feel like the rookie dinner tradition is a dumb one. Some players might really need the money, whereas the veterans for sure don't. Those same players that need the money might never cash the big pay cheque or even get to be on the veteran side of a rookie dinner.

Then that would represent fundamental change, to a point. Would he still be operating under EEE? Brawndo points out how the Sabres haven't taken on salary in a trade in years. Why are ineffective assistants still lurking behind the bench?

GM has the most affect on day to day in Buffalo. If we create a fake role for Adams I’d imagine the sway the role has is tantamount to a fake position

Adams had a fundamental part in the construction, up to and including the philosophy of the strategy, of the roster, and does so as well re: the day to day operations of the team. When the goal is merely playoffs even just a change at GM can make a huge difference Just because you personally don’t value a metric doesn’t mean it doesn’t have value for others. I cannot stress this enough: Adams deserves to be fired. The firing in itself carries a lot of weight for me. It angers me that he’s still here and I could never support a team that wins right now because Adams will get credit and I have a personal vendetta against Adams in the GM role and have since he fired a bunch of people to get the job, and came up with the plan that resulted in the trading of my favourite player, Jack Eichel maybe you simply aren’t used to people being this candid? I need Adams to be fired. It carries a lot of weight for me in and of itself When the team wins it makes me upset because I want Adams to fail. This is because he already has egregiously failed and any success he has now is undeserved and too late Also: there cannot BE a fundamental change in the owner unless Adams is fired. People keep saying “unless Terry changes it doesn’t matter”. Not firing Adams is confirmation nothing has changed. If he’s fired it means there’s at least a possibility these takes are leaning dangerously close to “well we can’t win the cup so why make the playoffs at all.” like, no. Adams is a spineless Yes Man. He will just execute every idea Pegula suggests. If Adams is fired and Lindy is made President atleast there is someone in place that won’t just be a yes man and Oegula would respect him enough to let him initiate change he wouldn’t let Adams do. Adams has to be canned and removed. The hierarchy has to change

I actually think the best outcome would be for Pegula to announce himself as GM. If he is having to approve sending depth D-men for low draft picks, he effectively already is. This way he can balls it up, and has no one else to blame. Maybe then he will realise he needs to let professionals do their job without his armchair input.
