  1. Past hour
  2. The point is, it’s in there, PerreaultForever, and it’s capable of busting out at any time. It’s a big reason so many of us watch as many games as we can despite the many seasons of disappointment. It is really something to enjoy when it happens.
  3. When he was a Boston prospect a lot of fans optimistically had him pegged as the next Marchand. I was kind of surprised the Bruins gave up on him since they really like the hard working grit guys and he's definitely in that mold. I'm not sure he has NHL skill but you never know. He certainly has the right attitude.
  4. We need that for 60 though not just OT. It's lacking more often than it's there.
  5. I actually play at the seniors center once in a while. I'm 66 and I'm the youngest guy there, but some of them know how to play. It's actually quite fun. The 90 year olds are actually quite inspirational.
  6. So Adams would not have to sign a player like this if he drafted him in the first place?
  7. Levi with a 37 save effort on top of his 40 saves last Saturday.
  8. Today
  9. Novikov with a shortie, 5-1 with 15 to go. 3 power play goals and 1 short-handed. Levi having a great game. 25 saves. Novikov again! 6-1. 8 left. 6-1 is the final. Helenius #2 star, Novikov #1 star. Levi stops 37 of 38. The Jr. Sens decided to start a brawl to feel better about getting their butts kicked so the Amerks ended up with a 5-on-3 PP to end the game.
  10. This may have already been highlighted above in this thread but it must be said. How sweet it was last night in OT for McLeod to make such a beautiful pass to Tuch in OT against his former team. Go Sabres
  11. I see Östlund has a three point night on a goal and two apples with Helenius chipping in with a goal and 2 helpers of his own. Levi with 22 saves. 4-1 good guys after two.
  12. Things a great story. Adams wouldn’t have to do this type of stuff if he drafted players of this ilk. Every pick in rounds 4-7 should be gritty, aggressive, 200 ft players.
  13. Hard to be enamored with anyone associated with this current iteration. Will there be alumni nights at Key Bank for the lovable losers from the 2011-2012 season or any other campaign during the last 15 years? That said, I do worry that Kevyn would get absolutely fleeced on any trade of any player on this roster.
  14. Amerks in Belleville tonight. Up 1-0 on a PP goal by Fiddler-Schultz. Levi in goal. Helanius makes it 2-0 another PP goal. Belleville PP makes it 2-1 in 1P. Ostund on...you guessed it...the PP. 3-1 End of 1. Neuchev goal makes it 4-1. 5:48 left in 2P. Belleville changes goalies. Snoggard gives up 4 on 27 shots.
  15. According to Google's AI overview, Les Kuntar played the first NHL game of his brief NHL career (6 games) with the Montreal Canadiens on December 23, 1993 against the Buffalo Sabres. The overview goes on to explain that he played for the Rochester Americans in 1996-97, was born in Elma, NY, has lived in the Buffalo area since his retirement, and has actually played some games in goal for the Sabres Alumni Team.
  16. When you said "Wake up the owner, tell him to give a damm about his team, and maybe the rest of the league will too." I took that as you saying the league will start treating the team fairly once the owner does something. Did I get that wrong? As for your claim that I contradicted myself, I don't see it. I said that the Sabres seem to be on the wrong side of calls more often. Most here agree. Then you made the suggestion that the league won't treat the team fairly until the owner does something. Then I said if that's how the NHL is run then it's more like the WWE than a pro sports league. I don't see a contradiction.
  17. Re: Pegula and speaking in public: "Ce qu’on conçoit bien s’énonce clairement, Et les mots pour le dire arrivent aisément." "Style is the physiognomy of the mind… A messy style therefore reveals a messy mind." "Quo modo scribit, sic et cogitat." "If language is not correct, then what is said is not what is meant; if what is said is not what is meant, then what must be done remains undone."
  18. Yesterday
  19. Kid has been good with the Amerks. Glad he’s getting a look.
  20. It will be interesting to see if McD comes up with a bracketing scheme to help Taron or concedes that Diggs will get his targets and yardage and make it a point that nobody else beats us. While Diggs caught 10 for 146 the first game, it took three Buffalo turnovers and a FG with under 29 seconds left to beat us. It’s gonna be interesting.
  21. Exactly my point. I'm not following along.
  22. So Diggs in the slot keeps him free of Benford and as Tom Webster speculates, Boutte becomes Benford’s logical assignment. Not thrilled with TJ on Diggs bit might get some help.
  23. First, I never said the Sabres get hosed by officials because "they deserve it". Once again you make a flawed interpretation and try to sell it something someone said or thinks. Never once did I say "the Sabres deserve it". Here is the string of correspondence, here are the receipts Promo. Number one You bolded the above and commented below: ^First Promo Comment - The Sabres get the dirty end of stick far more often. My response: My response. So far the words "we deserved it" which YOU quoted, are not there. My response points to the state of the team - because the owner does not show he cares, why would the league or anyone else. You last comment, completely opposite of your first. What is it Promo? Promo 1 - "We won this time" But it seems we get the dirty end of the stick more often" Promo 2 - "Call it the same for every team, every game. The notion that you only get fair officiating if you somehow earn respect is horseschitt." You have now flipped the argument over and you are on the other side. As long as you can disagree you will. That is what you do. Now, this has gone full circle and I am done.
