  1. Past hour
  2. Blame your favorite billionaire. But Terry doesn't meddle... the tank must have been Darcy's idea.
  3. Sure but wouldn't drafting top 3 have even more "excellenter" options
  4. How much is he paying them? It's not like Terry does any of the day to day stuff but I think he is the final say on any contracts and any trades too. Adams does all the work but Terry sets the direction and says who is untouchable or who should go. Those big picture formative things. It was reported in the summer that Buffalo was hard to deal with and one can easily surmise that all their moves are slow and indecisive looking because they have to run them by the big guy. They've shown the behind the scenes stuff and they spin it as Terry caring but he's in the room or on the phone. He's in the draft room. He's there for the trade deadline. He's constantly involved. This is clear and obvious.
  5. Is this not rooting for failure? I was told this doesn't really happen here.
  6. Its the capital of the Yukon Territory man. Population is about 30,000 people and you are allowed to drive a car in certain areas of town. I can see Terry gushing over the Penn State connection.
  7. Lol, yeah. Who the f*** is James Cook? People actually believe this.
  8. Yes, there's definitely a fear and indecision thing going on with Adams and he doesn't have a clue on goaltending. It seems nobody in the organization does. Maybe they should just bring Marty in and say "Marty, pick the best 2, pick the second best 2." Two for the NHL, Two for Rochester. Get rid of the rest and keep the 2 prospects somewhere like the ECHL in Ratzlaff and Leionen. That's it. Get it done. Really, if they can't decide on Ellis how are they ever going to decide if they don't play him? Hey buddy, go buy a condo, we'll pay for your moving expenses if we screw you over, but don't expect to play any games. What a crazy dumb organization.
  9. I don't disagree with your take, though I don't think I make excuses. More like you said, trying to be the voice of reason, which may come off like excuses.
  10. The question isn’t “is he a center?” It’s “does he drive a line?” You don’t need to be a center to do that — Marner drives a line as a winger. That’s the comparison: the guy who controls pace, makes plays through the neutral zone, and makes his linemates better. McKenna projects as that type of winger. He’s got the edgework, the transition game, and the puck touches to run a line at the NHL level — more Nylander/Ehlers than pure finisher. Benson isn’t a center either, and that’s fine. He drives play through forecheck, retrievals, and making winning plays — but he’s not the offensive organizer of a line. He’s the engine that we sorely miss IF Center Spine You’re Talking About is: Kulich Östlund HeleniuS All smart, detailed, two-way players — but they’re more connectors than line dictators. They’ll play well within structure, but none of them are guaranteed to be the “tilt the ice, run everything through me” guy. That’s exactly where McKenna fits. Actually I'm giving up if they finish the road trip 0-4. 1-3 and I'm almost there
  11. I am merely calling out the conflicting narratives that some fans post here. Someone actually said they don't want the Sabres to make the playoffs because Adams would get the credit and won't get fired. How am I supposed to read that?
  12. It would be nice but I wouldn't look for that to happen. Only way for them to have success right now is to play a tighter more grinding team system and get some good goaltending. If they try to rely on star power and individual play it'll fail miserably. Everybody has to get on the boards and grind. Battle. This is part of the Thompson problem too. He's just looking for the shot again. Every team knows this. He needs to grind as well. Stop being so predictable.
  13. But if Terry is the de facto GM, as has been floated here, what is Jarmo doing and why promote him? Also how can Terry be cheap about spending to the cap while paying a dozen front office people?
  14. This kills me. We change the story with Terry depending on the narrative we are pushing that day. Today he's indifferent, yesterday he's making all the decisions and telling his yes-man GM what to do.
  15. I can be positive. You are all-on on finding the negative. You can't look at the now without dredging up the past. God bless you. Whatever gets you off.
  16. “Wrong choices” has some inclined to believe the Sabres brainless-trust actually put effort in to those decisions. i prefer to call them the “Donkey choices”, because I actually envision Sabres mngt playing pin the tail on the donkey when they made those decisions. No reason Kevyn and the gang can’t have fun while going balls deep on Sabres fans.
  17. “The Yhinzer Connection”? 😂
  18. Fickle and emotional maybe.
  19. I’m not overthinking this. His heart and brain are focused on something other than his job right now, so he’s tending to that. Sorry to be blunt, but Rasmus watched his soulmate die. CPR means no heartbeat and no breathing. From his statement: ”While on vacation in France early this summer, Carolina began to feel sick for a few days, which quickly turned into her experiencing major heart failure. Fortunately, she received CPR on multiple occasions, and up to a couple of hours at a time to keep her alive, which ultimately saved her life.” ”She was transferred to a hospital where she remained on life support for weeks before she was a beneficiary of a heart transplant while still in France.” Hockey is just a game. I hope he gets his heart and head right and I hope he takes as long as he needs.
  20. Today
  21. The only question I have for this game is will Tage show up. I think the D is in a much better place to agsorb (as Rob Ray would say) the loss of Dahlin than it was last year.
  22. If you like the team so much, why do you want Adams to be fired?
  23. At 8th in this draft, we'd have some excellent options if Forton and Adams don't ***** it up.
  24. Dahlin has made about 33 million to date before taxes. He's got 77 or so million left on his current contract.
  25. We will finish in 8th since that is where we always seem to finish. We had our shots at the top picks and either traded them away or made the wrong choices and now we’re living with those choices.
  26. Meh....I actually think this team is going to compete all year. They seem bought into the system and are skating hard more consistently. Don't discount the Dahlin situation bringing these guys closer. Humans are good that way in terms of bonding. I see a team that hovers around 9 and 10 until spring.
