Per After the Whistle Adams is confirmed to be the GM next season
-
1) Terry feels “heard” because he is a grovelling yes man. 2) Money: he still has a contract for this season. He stands up in front of the media and takes the bullets, lying about no financial constraints and Terry’s commitment to spend. He never should have been hired and he shouldn’t still be employed but that is where we are right now. When you have owned a team for 14 years and missed the playoffs every single season you think you would want to improve but all signs point to Nope.
-
kind of disappointed about this. He has had two good seasons in liiga and I thought we might see him on the amerks next year. Hopefully it doesn't come back to bite them. Or maybe hopefully it does for the players sake?
-
Do you get provided a bucket or do you have to bring your own? Bills are good because Terry is kept out of football decisions and Josh Allen is the best QB Bandits are good because as far as we know, Terry doesn't give a flying F about them. Amerks are good because of Karmanos and the fact the Sabres draft top 10 year after year. But hey, keep carrying that water for the franchise sunshine. Also if Terry gave a ***** about the Sabres being good, he'd have fired Adams and the coaching staff by now. Dude just wants to save money for his football stadium over runs.

Lance Lysowski leaving TBN Sabres Beat for the Bills
That Aud Smell replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Lol. Yes, indeed. If nothing else, my content here is characterized by overreactions. -
Yeah but his skill set is something Buffalo needs just as bad. If McQueen is healthy then sure take him but after Lidstrom last year there will be a ton of scrutiny on him. I think Martin doesn’t get past Boston at 7. Sweeney was at the Under 18s and Button said he was very impressed with Martin. He screams Bruin.

Why is Kevyn Adams still the General Manager?
PromoTheRobot replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
Except for the Bills, Bandits and Amerks, all his teams stink. -
My issue is O'Brien isn't very physical and we need that.

Lance Lysowski leaving TBN Sabres Beat for the Bills
PromoTheRobot replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
I think it's more the tendency to go ballistic over any little thing, which is an extension of the state is the Sabres. In short, you're overreacting. Which, ironically, also tracks. -
I think I’d take O’Brien over McQueen. His injury is such a red flag. The combine will be huge for him. Bear’s injury is concerning as well but he will bounce back after a year or so.

Never heard of the guy.

Lance Lysowski starts covering the Bills and now things begin to unravel at the Sabres. -

I feel better now. Whoever caters team meals should be next. -

Terry Pegula hired him and thinks he is doing a good enough job to retain, maybe even promote. Adams is apparently getting a 6th season with no success to show for it. No other team operates like this. No team ever has. It’s shameful and lazy and disrespectful to the fan base. I’m not going to pay for Sabres tickets or merchandise anymore.
-
Because Terry Pegula does not care about winning.
-
At this stage it looks like he is still the GM because: - Pegula still trusts Adams. Pegula’s trust in Adams’s ability to ice a winning hockey team has to be fading. But Pegula is not ready to fire the man he considers a trusted consigliere. And/or - Pegula does not want to pay 2-3 men seven figure salaries to not work for him, which would be the case if he fired Adams (and Ruff). So we get one more lame-duck season of GMKA, starring Kevyn Adams and featuring Lindy Ruff. Together or apart, they are terrible reasons for not making needed change. Betting money should be on things getting worse. There just isn’t any precedent for a 1st time GM having no success through 5 seasons, and then figuring it out in year 6.
-
I would love to know what the NHL thinks about this. The Sabres preach accountability, but do the opposite when it comes to their FO. A GM who has not made the playoffs in 5 years and not fired is unheard of. My only guess is Terry feels paralyzed for what to do, especially when it comes to firing the only person he trusts.
-
The league doesn’t need to bother. The Sabres are perfectly capable of ineptitude without the assistance.

To everyone clamoring for the Sabres to trade the pick
inkman replied to inkman's topic in The Aud Club
That’s not just trading the pick. That’s upgrading the roster. I don’t equate trade draft pick = instant good player on the roster. If people want the Sabres to upgrade the roster, great but it’s going to take a heck of a lot more than # 9 overall to get it done. Which no one, other than you, bother to mention. You answered a whole bunch of questions I never asked. -
Are you ready to give up on the team?
GASabresIUFAN replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
To answer my OP question, I’m just about done. If they don’t make major moves to fix the roster and management, I’m done.
