Amerks are 1-1 in the second. Helinus not in lineup. Not sure why.
-
Probably not, but they have a better shot now. They have 2 elite forwards in Kaprizov and Boldy. A solid D-corps led by Faber and now Quinn. Elite goaltending. They're weak down the middle, but a strong blue line and elite goaltending can make up for a lot.

https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/canucks-place-forward-lukas-reichel-on-waivers/ What is the deal with this guy? He was a heralded prospect and then suddenly Chicago couldn’t wait to dump him. He goes to Vancouver and rumors start to pop up that he is available again and now they just waive him.

Want no part of that player or contract. Immensely skilled, but fragile mentally, and prone to sulking. That's the LAST thing this outfit needs. Good for Minnesota. Great hockey market, glad to see them do well. They seem to be coming out the other side of the Parisi/Suter buyouts just fine and didn't have to tank to do it. Shows what can be done with a competent GM.

They're both very good, and I'm a big Dahlin fan, but Hughes is a bit better. He's won the Norris in 2024.
-
Vancouver had interest in Byram as well.

The last thing this ghetto franchise needs is acting irrationally due to desperation. That will only set this 😆 laughed at franchise farther back and make it an even lesser appealing place for potential new staff and players. Acting more intelligently and competently might not sound very jazzy, but it is what this dumb franchise needs more of.

My guess is maybe Power was part of the offer? Maybe?

... how many lhd do we need? Adams need to gtfo, he's just collecting things hoping it might work. He's got no imagination and no ideas of his own.

Our best goalie is on another roster waiting for us to acquire him. Unless Levi is the savior, it's certainly not Lyon, UPL or Ellis (at least yet).

Sabres recall Noah Östlund and return Trevor Kuntar to Rochester
Taro T replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Isn't Kuntar leading the team in goals? Actually believe that calling him up to the big team for a cup of coffee is a good thing. They were barred from returning Östlund to the parent club until he'd played in a game and the braintrust decided that Kuntar was the most deserving of the F's that remained. The message of "work hard, get results, and when an opportunity arises, you'll get rewarded" gets reinforced a heck of a lot more by sending him up than by sending up somebody like Wahlberg who isn't having as good of a season. (Haven't been watching much of the Amerks; if Wahlberg's picked his play up recently, then, well, nevermind, but you still get the point.) And, Östlund has played well in Buffalo and is who Ruff wants in the lineup. He's pencilled into the top 6 for tomorrow night. So, once he became available again, they made the roster move to play him in the top 6 rather than Kuntar or even worse Greenway or Quinn.
