If im Sabres, im calling the Kings and seeing what are they thinking about Quinton Byfield and offering Tuch one for one. Byfield is having a poor season. 2G and they might be thinking he needs a change of scenery. A player like Tuch could be very useful to them if they face Oilers again. Byfield is still just 23.

That's not going to happen. A deadline deal will involve pick(s) or prospects. maybe a roster player they don't want for salary reasons but you don't really want that guy either long term. Maybe you have to take him (like Bruins had to take Mittelstadt) for their cap but what you get will be futures and not good roster players. Ideally you can hope for a really good prospect like the Bruins got in Minten on the Carlo trade. If I remember correctly they got Minten, a first and a 4th. Different type of player obviously but I think you can look for something similar for Tuch. Hard to get more unless they trade and sign which seems unlikely.That's a good haul though. Sabres could use a guy like Minten.

I suppose that's possible but there might be other dead weight floating around as a contender or three looks to dump somebody to pick up somebody else. Hard to say. Thing is I doubt Adams will look to undo a move he made. Trade and trade again and trade a traded for guy really isn't his style. he believes too much in himself. Any fault is on players who don't want to be there, no move clauses, palm trees and so forth. This year, as I said way back, it'll be all blamed on injuries.

I don’t think it is possible to get a trade done before close to trade deadline. I believe there will be teams tanking and some might have a hard time to get to cap floor. Norris still has to be traded, and Adams wins the Worst trade in history award.

To Seattle for Kappo Kakko and a 1st (Seattle has their own and Tampa’s). Seattle wants to get back in the playoffs so they trade for the better player. It’s cap neutral this year for Seattle, and they have space to extend Tuch. Sabres try to thread the needle by getting a good younger, but lesser, player who is under contract for two additional seasons, along with the futures. Kakko’s contract means the Sabres can extend Benson, Doan, Kesselring and still have space to add a significant player through trade or free agency. Kakko has no trade protection.

What's funny is, during the pandemic, I was one of the ones that traveled a lot, I caught a lot of flak for my "stance" on the virus, however the vaccines are generally safe and have been around for some time, the technology to mass produce them is what was new. I didn't agree with the forced vaccine stance but did recommend to those that willingly wanted it. I digress, as that's not a convo I want to rehash.... With that being said, I've been a Physician for 20 years with extensive training in Emergency and Infectious disease medicine, I have a clinic in rural Africa and I've tacked pandemics from Malaria to Ebola. The basic point still stands that professional athletes are at risk for increased clotting just by the nature of a frozen rubber puck smashing into their musculature and high speed collisions. Bottom line... This sucks for Kulich, for whatever reason he's on some sort of treatment that is keeping him from playing the game he loves. Hopefully it's towards the 6-8 week time line but that would be very optimistic. This team, hell City, may actually be cursed
