  1. Past hour
  2. Actually, Ruff was the 3rd experienced coach hired in the Pegula era. Goober had won a SC in Pittsburgh and Ted Nolan had coached in a couple of different NHL cities. 3 experienced and 3 inexperienced. (Kreuger's partial season before leaving for Europe and hockey tournaments and pro soccer leaves him in the "inexperienced" category IMHO.) 3 inexperienced GMs with 0 experienced GMs brought into that role, though at least 2 experienced "advisors." Patrick and Kekalainen.
  3. I'll admit right now I like Belchetz.
  4. I heard a Brad Marchand clip the other day where he said Celebrini is "an absolute dog. He competes every shift. You can see he wants it" etc etc. It's a pity nobody says that about Owen Power.
  5. 9 days? That's crazy. Doctors haven't figured it out? Stuff with this team just gets weirder and weirder.
  6. We might be better off with a Hudsucker Proxy scenario where Terry hires the mailroom clerk instead. But I gots a feelin' Jarmo was more a “waiting in the wings” type of a successor.
  7. What would you have said about Celebrini at this point in his draft year?
  8. Seems pretty obvious that he just watched a Sabres game. That's exactly how I feel when doing it.
  9. It's always been about the roster construction. The lack of veteran leaders, the unbalanced team dynamic. They are always trying to fill holes they create themselves. Jarmo is the first NHL experienced hire they have made in the Pegula era. Ruff was the first experienced coach but he's a has been. Rookie GMs, rookie coaches, crazy hires of motivational speakers, cobbled together after thought goaltending. The franchise vision is ridiculous and as such the culture never builds. It's just a little up and back to the bottom (insert this year's excuses) and then do it all over again. Players get worse here. Rookies hit walls. Sometimes they leave and other teams/cultures fix them. Sometimes not. It's NOT the players, it's the Sabres organization.
  10. It's a huge mess. It's obvious. I suppose there will be some eternal optimists who think we are "close" or they will buy into the injury excuse that will be Adams' mantra but the reality is he is a complete failure. Has been for years. The organization failed not firing him last year. Pegula won't step away and hand it over to someone. It's all a disaster. Lindy is already starting to look 10 years older. It's killing him.
  11. I usually don't in November. I like to wait until January before forming too many opinions.
  12. That you don’t have a resounding opinion on one or the other says enough to me
  13. I think McKenna has the most offensive skill in the draft. I think Stenberg might end up the better pro, keep in mind though, a bunch of Stenbergs goals are from the pp. I see the engagement questions but also see the skill level when McKenna has the puck. This is difficult for me because since the Jarvis draft, I've been very keen to find guys with high intensity motors. Stenberg has a better motor but less creation. Idk how to evaluate them yet.
  14. One of Adams rare wins.
  15. No. Want them to win. Starting tomorrow night. If things have gone caca, then at the Olympic break, clean house and get what you can for guys that don't fit into the future. Don't tear it down to the studs. Just get a little bit of cap space back and some additional draft capital and hit the ground running next year. But, don't do anything now to spur on them going furhter caca than they already have.
  16. That’s kinda like looking at Transformers: Age of Extinction and being like, “ya it’s all the same, except Mark Wahlberg, Kelsey Grammer, Stanley Tucci, and TJ Miller are in it. Other than those actors, it’s the same movie.” It’s more about the auteur
  17. Haven't seen anyone say that.
  18. I feel glad we traded him.
  19. Everything is exactly the same, except for Kesselring, Doan, Danforth, Lyon, Ă–stlund, Rosen, Timmins, Ellis, Greenway (back from injury), Norris (eventually) and Dunne. Other than those 11 players it's exactly the same team.
  20. It's Ruff's fault McKee's shin pads weren't clean? Really?
  21. I don’t care what they do, as long as it’s the decision of a new GM
  22. Today
  23. NO MORE TANKING!!!!! I want them to start winning. Or at the very least competing with some consistency, which means, START WINNING!!!!! Thank you for letting me get that out, my apologies to the neighbors.
  24. Anyone else get the Sabres dog mascot photo today?
  25. So now everyone wants to lose out for an 18% chance to draft a would-be savior who right now is having red flags pop up on a daily basis and isn't anywhere as good in college as Jack was?
  26. yeah, mostly joking, but if we're looking for some combination of NHL ready (or near NHL ready) rather than picks I feel like that's the kind of guy we can expect back - Maybe Savoie and a 1st for Tuch? Which wouldn't excite me, but teams that are buyers aren't usually giving up good NHL pieces in rerturn.
