  1. Past hour
  2. I’m not looking forward to his first game against Ryan O’Reilly.
  3. How right does one need to be? I called out the imminent failure of Adams’ plan from day numero uno. Literally to a T told you how and why it would fail. It’s been 14 years, man. Not only have folks been proven right, they can no longer be proven wrong. everything in moderation. It’s time for a playoff berth and I think we can all agree on that
  4. It’s easier to write off one of 12 forward slots than it is 1 of 6 on D. Were they down any D back when all of that happened? Im not crazy about carrying the guy, but I could see him shuttling back and forth a lot. Is he Rempe insurance for game 1 and then he’s down already?
  5. He scraps, he defends himself, he agitates, but his is not going to deter someone from taking liberties. Same with Benson and a few others. The team needs a fighter that can play a regular shift.
  6. So if they mutually agree to part ways and then the contract doesn’t get paid, it winds up essentially as a PTO. I don’t know, I get NHL or nothing vibes from this one and now that they’re not interested, he’ll leave.
  7. I'm not prepared to dig in again, but the number of 6-9 defencemen that have come through here over Adams' tenure is off the charts long.
  8. I hope so, that was what I expected after his development path was over. I am skeptical because he may go to the dirty areas in practice.
  9. You forgot the willing lightweight Krebs.
  10. This is interesting to me. I'd say for a large portion of this board it's more of a love-hate relationship: most seem to care deeply but it's not a warm and forgiving win-or-lose kinda love, more the love of a repeatedly let down or betrayed spouse or parent. Very few around here are the "we'll get 'em next time" types. I have no frame of reference for the more typical fan in and around Buffalo, but I suspect Sabrespace is not reflective of the "typical" fan. But I think back to the '80s Canucks teams of my youth who had a similar level of success to the Adams Sabres. Sure plenty of fans grumbled and tickets were easy to come by, but generally they still loved their Tony Tantis, hated the Flames and Oilers, and were ready to jump back on the bandwagon given the slightest opportunity. Those kinda fans just kinda fade when things aren't good, whereas most Sabrespace types stay invested and spend their time venting to their online friends.
  11. They are all winnable games, Boston, Ottawa and Canadiens are about level with Buffalo. Florida is not the same without Barkov and Tkachuk. Rangers are only better in net while Colorado lacks depth and I am not sure if their goaltending holds up. Wild cards are Sabres goaltending and the health of the D corps.
  12. Former season ticket holder here. I started my home game boycott after the "solution is in the room" speech last season. I don't want to do it but for me to attend games I have to travel to Buffalo and my expenses are much more than just the cost of the hockey tickets. Otherwise I would have met up with you and the rest for the game this season. I still visit Buffalo often but going to that arena and paying for that product is not worth it. When I see a tangible semblance of a Sabres organization on the right track I will be back. I will be happy to pay more to support a team that cares about their fans.
  13. Great to hear about Power, he should be "fingers crossed" ready for Thursday
  14. Mike Schopp stopped by our tailgate yesterday and we were talking about how soon the Sabres season will get derailed. If Buffalo does not have a decent record by end of November (lots of winnable games IF they are going to be a playoff team), we both thought the season would spiral.
  15. In a small market like Buffalo? Don't think so Buffalo loves their Sabres, though
  16. The NHL Regular Season kicks off with an Triple Header tonight
  17. Good to hear this but keep in mind Buffalo is a college town loaded with NYC metro and Long Island students. The price of tickets is ridiculously cheap for them. Looking forward to the game anyway. As always.
  18. My kids still enjoy going to games, I will take that for as along as possible
  19. I really do respect your opinion and you are one of my go to posters when I visit the board, but man you are like a reformed smoker.😉
  20. It sure seems that Adams loves to work on, 5/6/7/8 defenders, fourth line forwards, and backup goalies. Could that be why they don't get better?
  21. The tire pumpers are in midseason form. So the rest of the season will be sold out?
  22. True, but I got tired of seeing those 3 having to drop them and no one else (accept maybe Clifton) and certainly no follow up (see Noeson and Thompson). Ruff wants to carry a tough guy, yet he didn't put Gilbert on the ice after Thompson got nailed, he wanted to score a goal. That was fine, but Gilbert bever even got a shift after that. Why carry Gertie if that is how he is going to use him?
  23. Tuch was chipper at the autograph signing event, chatting up fans, etc.
  24. We're slacking off getting out message out there. Would you rather they win or be right?
  25. Today
  26. It's almost like the couldn't get him to sign a PTO, so they paid him a year's salary to essentially be on one.
