  1. Past hour
  2. An act of "insanity" is what this franchise needs. Earthquake shattering everything. A complete overhaul of every aspect of the team and culture. Get the paddles out and shock this thing back to life. If not, just sit back, watch the hope fade every year. Watch the life go out of their eyes. Keep losing vets who lose their love for hockey. Talk about the next high first round pick every year. rinse and repeat.
  3. I agree it's unlikely but I see one scenario where it's possible. Terry has had enough and basically given up. He brought in Jarmo to observe him, see if he can trust him, but will finally just give up and hand him the keys. Then Jarmo will decide it needs a tear down ("subtraction phase" as Torts put it in Philly) and a culture rebuild from the ground up. The timing would be perfect with Torts available and having previously worked together.
  4. Oh sure, Östlund showed he can play and is a probable NHLer. He's better than Quinn imo. I just don't see the point of flying Kuntar in across country for 5 minutes of one game against a bottom feeder team. If it was in Buffalo and he just drove in from Rochester sure, why not. But this was silly.
  5. Norris and Tuch are on the ice for practice today in Seattle
  6. A hiring of Torts is an act of insanity. I have sternly warned you that you need to stop eating those hallucinogenic mushrooms. If you continue to partake you will end up with terminal brain rot. This smug and insufferable faux pas tyrant's career has run its course. The expiration date on this fellow is way past long gone.
  7. The extra year may have prevented Adams from making a desperation move that would have set the franchise back even further
  8. Plenty of GM ‘s and coaches have been fired with yrs left on their contracts.
  9. No one is going give up a lot for UPL. If it is decided that he is the odd man out in the current trio rotation, then trade him or whoever, and get what you can get. In my view, it would be good for UPL to go to another team and have a fresh start. One of the main criticisms that KA has received by many over the past number of years is how he has handled the goalie position. No question that it is warranted.
  10. I doubt there is much of a chance that this could happen as you've outlined it. It's not the way Terry operates. That doesn't mean that it doesn't have a certain appeal to those of us who feel a complete culture change is necessary. Torts would change the atmosphere in the locker room before the end of the 2025 and certainly elevate the bar as far as what is an acceptable level of effort on the ice. This is the set it on fire and whatever/whomever doesn't melt is the new "core" moving forward. Would be interesting to see.
  11. Based on the defenseman in that division the Central should be renamed the Norris Division
  12. Pierre LeBrun mentioned the same thing
  13. Jay McKee (I hear glowing reviews on player development & team success)… After retiring from playing in 2010, McKee moved into coaching: Assistant Coach, Rochester Americans (AHL) – 2011-12. Assistant coach in the OHL with the Erie Otters (2014-15). Associate and then Head Coach of the Kitchener Rangers (OHL), leading them for several seasons. In 2021 he was named head coach of the Hamilton Bulldogs in the OHL (the team later moved/renamed to the Brantford Bulldogs). As head coach of the Bulldogs, he won the 2022 OHL Championship and has compiled strong records; he recently achieved his 300th OHL coaching win and is one of the fastest coaches in league history to do so. McKee signed a contract extension through the 2027-28 season with the Bulldogs, highlighting his success and value in the league. WOULD have to buy him out likely, IF he wants the job. Named assistant coach for Team CHL at the 2025 CHL USA Prospects Challenge, representing the OHL alongside coaches from other leagues. In summary, Jay McKee is a respected hockey coach developing talent in major junior hockey and has built a strong coaching resume after a distinguished NHL playing career.
  14. This 1000%. If Adams is still anything but a figure head, work from home type job then none of this matters. If GM and coaches can’t pick their own guys then it is also pointless.
  15. Today
  16. If you fire Kevyn, who is going to administer these enemas?
  17. That’s more ice time than Savoie got. Östlund gives them a better chance to win, which is what Lindy wants. KA is busy on-line, house hunting in Jacksonville.
  18. I honestly think that was a favor from GMKA to the (local) family. Adams knows he's on his way out. Two-way contract gets him a game and it doesn't cost much if anything. Kind of classy, actually.
  19. I can simplify this down to 2 moves. 1. Fire Kevyn 2. A Franks hot sauce enema for the entire roster and coaching staff after every game they lose.
  20. Normally, I would have been the first to grab my pitch fork and yell at you that I don't want borderline abusive dinosaur coaching the team ... but honestly ... sure, why not.
  21. Someone weighed in heavily on this trade. I don’t think it was Kevyn, but this person should be given more responsibility.
  22. Oh come on, they gave him a rookie lap and then 5 full minutes of ice time. I hope the guy at least got a good meal in Van. They do have some decent restaurants. It's a nice city to visit.
