  1. Past hour
  2. You're right about this season. But anyone you sign now, unless it's a one year deal, is going to have an impact going forward.
  3. I'm sure Tuch is watching this insanity with Yakety Sax playing in the background going on thinking "GET ME THE ***** OUT OF HERE".
  4. They should trade Byram and Rosen for Riley Heidt and Marco Rossi.
  5. It's a fine contract for him.......BUT.....that would give the sabres one the most expensive d corps in the league....AND...they are not even particularly a good group. It's such a frustrating position to be in.
  6. Exactly they off loaded Cliffton and Lafferty this year, that can be done again if needed
  7. So the Sabres are in a complete state of paralysis until the situation with Byram is resolved. What a hilarious shitshow this organization is.
  8. Come on now. Alex Tuch's cap hit won't matter until 2026.
  9. Tuch's extension doesn't factor into this year's team salary at all. Worry about fitting all the guys that need to be re-signed or all the guys they hope to bring in next year in the next off-season. They can trade a piece or pieces for something cheaper next year IF that's necessary. It certainly isn't necessary at present.
  10. How about I word it this way. I don't believe Kevyn Adams when he says they dumped salary to prepare for a Byram offer sheet. I think that was in their minds, sure, but they dumped salary to dump salary until proven otherwise.
  11. Yep. And it's why they shut him down immediately. Gave him an extra 6 weeks or so to heal up and be ready to go when camp opens in September.
  12. That's true but he's also negotiating with Tuch for an extension. He has much more flexibility this way.
  13. Nonsense, unless Byram was lost. Then your on Adams for not planning.
  14. IF an offer sheet comes that puts the Sabres over the cap this summer, or if Adams gets an offer on a top 6 F that he simply can't refuse that puts the Sabres over the cap this summer, he has until right before the season starts to get the team cap compliant. Trading away Samuelsson, in almost any case would get the Sabres cap compliant. He wouldn't be immediately handcuffed.
  15. Adams had roughly the same qualifications to be an NHL GM as the guy with the hot dog cart outside of the arena. Only a ridiculous fool like Terry didn't see this coming.
  16. Unless they either sign Byram to the saved space or trade him for a player that takes that space, what adams said is nonsense.
  17. Maybe you missed when Adams said the Sabres needed to get into a position to not be caught by an offer sheet. So yes, they were shedding salary, but it was for a good reason. I'm sure you would have lost your s**t if they traded for Rossi but lost Byram to an offer sheet (and not a very big one.) As for Kesselring, he was also a big need for the team, so there's that. Why does everything have to happen immediately? Does the season start next week?
  18. yea, he tore a core muscle like an oblique or something like that
  19. If this were true he would sign Byram and move on. Or he's incapable of pivoting.
  20. Samuelsson: 14pts... 14 entire points. -12.3relCF%, -11.6xgf% and yet they start him in the defense zone 73% of the time, even though he's not good at defense. He might be average or so but woof.
  21. For every 2 arbitration awards in any given year, you can walk away from 1 of them. So, if you have 1 or 2 players electing arbitration, you can walk away from 1, 3 or 4 and you can walk away from 2. And so on and so forth. And that's only the case when the award is above a threshold (was $3.5MM when the last CBA was signed, not sure what it is now due to inflation) and Bernard-Docker's award had exactly 0.0% chance of exceeding that threshold to allow the Sabres to elect to walk away from it. And you can't walk away from club elected arbitiration. (Though that doesn't apply in this situation at all.)
  22. Thankfully every day is complaint day when it comes to the Sabres. In comparison, for me, everything is great! So I'll wait until tomorrow to post more. 🙂
  23. But you aren't on the phone now. So you don't know what's being offered. He may be getting offered 3rd line players. Do you want more of those? I doubt it.
  24. The good thing is Roobroeck provides some of the vowels missing from Strbak and Mrtka.
  25. The question is, is Norris healthy and recovered from his mystery injury of last season? Do we even know what was wrong with him?
