  1. Past hour
  2. This is the front office equivalent to last year's 4th line "upgrades". Yes, I am now fully a cynic.
  3. I despised the way Staal played for the Sabres. My feelings for him otherwise are completely neutral. Wherever the angst comes from, I must have been out of the room 🤷‍♂️ I mean the hiring itself is pretty typical old boy NHL stuff: Yzerman, Sakic, Lafontaine, Neely, Shanahan, Francis, Blake — the number of former stars hired for these kinda positions to get their feet wet in management for no other reason than their connections is long and well-walked. i doubt he brings much, but I'd rather this than not this.
  4. This has nothing to do with Byram's ego to skill ratio. He wants to play a big role, and he wants to lead a PP. I want a guy like that. The problem the Sabres have right now is the money tied up on defense already due to the foolish contracts given to Muel and Power. This was talked about after the trade was made. We traded our best two way center at the time (Mitts) for a rental. One year after the trade it is clear we got the better player, but in typical Sabres fashion they can't or won't fit him in.
  5. I think he is the proverbial guy in a party with his zipper down and Henrietta Hippopotamus underwear showing... cracking jokes thinking everyone is laughing because they he's funny...
  6. It's because of the team they beat/injured. That was the one people thought would win it all. It definitely means a lot more to the people who lived there at that time. I wasn't here at that point, but the fans here do definitely hold a grudge against us even still.
  7. That probably is an asset to most fans
  8. Ok well the fact he’s a homophobic assh*ole probably bridges the rest of the gap no Good friend of Kevyn
  9. They don't own anything from that organization though, do they? Well, except their entire organizational structure, but don't get me started on that.
  10. Carolina doesn’t even make my top 10 most hated teams in the league. I’ve never really understood the disdain for the team. They beat the Sabres in the playoffs. Whoop Dee damn doo. So have a dozen other teams. It’s weird and I feel like it’s only a certain generation of fans that feel this way.
  11. There are rumours out there certain franchises are begging the likes of Holland to run their teams. He would never, ever have to lower himself to this Not in a million years under Adams
  12. Adams is irreverent, but hey at least when NHL free agency opens July, he'll have his buddies hanging down in Chautauqua... Forgetting NHl free agency has opened
  13. Yes I am sure a position under Adams will attract the shiniest of candidates
  14. My only change would have been to do the end of the tusk in that old Phoenix style pattern. Not the colors, just the shape
  15. I like that mountain mammoth logo.
  16. This is a move an experienced, successful GM makes. Why are we bringing in more inexperience with zero ties to the Buffalo franchise or community (a combo of both was warranted here.). My guess is Ryan Miller didn’t want the job? EDIT: I guess that’s the role the Senior Advisor will play. God. Just hire a Team President
  17. lol, I guess the Sabres are using the Bills approach and only hiring guys who either played or worked in Carolina or Buffalo. I hear Cam Ward applied to be the new goaltending coach.
  18. Was Milan Lucic not available? How can this be real life? In the drought era, how many bigger villains are there than Eric Stahl? Lucic, Eichel, he’s not too far down the list. Can they bring in Jon Bon Jovi as a business consultant? What are we even doing here.
  19. Also how do Bales, Wilford and Ellis still work here?
  20. Who didn't see this one coming once they couldn't use yeti?
  21. the only Staal i want to see with the Sabres is an empty one when nature calls after drinking too much beer.
  22. I don't. if you are Jarmo, or Kenny Holland, or Pierre Dorion, or God knows who, this might be your fastest ticket back to a GM seat. If Adams succeeds, you can sell yourself as a guy who helped finally turn it around in Buffalo. If he doesn't you could find yourself steering the ship by Christmas. Short of an actual GM job offer, or a similar offer from a better franchise, this is a great opportunity.
  23. Weber is a Ruff guy, call him associate coach to get out of the contract. Feeling but yeah, he is no soft guy
