I was bickering with a buddy tonight on how many goals certain players would have this year and threw down a bet on someone. I figured since this is a pretty honorable group posting on the website, I could whip together over/unders for goals scored by Sabre players on the year. Anyone who wanted to play would have to say over or under the total for each player. The contest would be open to anyone who registered on the site prior to November 10. The goal total is for the entire year IN A SABRES UNIFORM. Tiebreakers will be broken by 1)who will have the most goals for the Sabres? 2)How many points will the team end up with in the standings? 3)Who will be the Sabres 1st round competition in the playoffs? If it is still somehow tied after that.....random drawing. Everyone would have until Monday night at midnight to complete their choices. If there is a way to freeze the choices on the site, that would be great, or else I would fill out a spreadsheet away to prevent shennanigans. The Prize would be a Buffalo Sabres Game Used Jersey. I cannot promise who it would be of, or if I can even get a current year player, but I do have a choice of about 10 former Sabres both in black or blue and gold. This is a little easier than disecting the Bills schedule....and someone WILL win. Post within the thread. If this is overstepping any bounds, feel free to crush me like a bug. I figured I'd just try to make the season even more interesting. I have Timmy C. at such a low number because of his injury. He may never come back so you bet the under. He could come back at Christmas and score 20 so you'd bet the over. When the last game of the season is played, look at the Goal column for the season and that is the total for each player. I'll update as players hit the over totals during the season. This will probably go down to the wire, but you never know. Some interesting stats: 1) Only 4 of 13 see Tiny Tim coming back and scoring more than 6 goals....not very encouraging 2) All 13 say Novotny scores 8 or more 3) All but 1 say 27 or less for Al Kotalik, all but 2 say Pominville gets 29 or more, all but 1 have Soupy scoring 6 or more, only 2 have faith enough in Andrew Peters to score more than 2 goals. I disagree with the majority on all 4, but then again I am the moron giving away collectibles 4) Average points for the Sabres is 118. That means we need 87 of 130 possible points left, or win close to 2 of every 3 games Thanks for playing......a 12-1 shot for everyone isn't so bad. Good Luck.
