  1. Depends on your taste. If you like mixed drinks, order a Manhattan to see how you like bourbon (order it made with something good but that won't break the bank, so try Maker's Mark). If you want to try scotch, I would stick to single malts (not blended) and something pretty easy to start with is Balvenie. Mix a half teaspoon of water into the scotch before drinking. Scotch this way is good paired with food, meats / stinky cheeses, etc. You can also go hardcore 1970s Buffalo with a 7&7 to try Canadian whiskey.
  2. There was a lull while they were changing the glass and he started calling his dog's names, lasted awhile... it seemed like he had finally snapped. Then he explained what he was doing only after he had finished.
  3. i'm listening online so i have no idea. He got a 10 minute, so you know he must have done something MUCH worse than checking someone headfirst into the boards from behind.
  4. this is his second hat trick. his first came earlier this season, but i can't remember against who.
  5. what the hell is jenerette doing? has he finally lost his mind?
  6. yeah don't you wish we could bank some of these goals and bring them out when the team quits in the third period against a crappy opponent?
  7. Kelso - First off, nice screen name. I think that some teams have figured us out... Montreal is one of them. For awhile there it seemed like every night we were just getting mugged at the blue line and that was that. Tennessee tried to skate with us instead of gumming up the works, and they paid for it. Tonight, though, I think we ran into both. In the 1st the Blues had an effective forecheck, but in the 2nd and 3rd the game opened up a lot. In the 2nd we did a good job of it and scored two goals. In the third we seemed to be playing slow and not really generating quality scoring chances. Overtime the was worst though. There was no offense and they came out flat. After Hecht's kick-in goal was disallowed it seemed like the Sabres were flat and the Blues came out gunning. It got worse when they tied it up. They were clearly juiced, their fans really got back behind them, and the Sabres didn't have a response.
  8. Wow. Zero offense in overtime. Bad backward pass by Max... why pass back to Lydman? Who is more likely to score? Max or Lydman? Lydman was just setting up at the point to keep the puck in the zone, not to make an offensive move, and Max should have known Lydman's tendency would not be to make an offensive move. Seemed like an off night for Drury and Briere, Max managed to cause some excitement, drew a penalty, but nothing else. Bad night all around except for the 2nd period. We even looked slow during most of the 3rd.
  9. First Period Thoughts: 1. Blues are doing too good of a job with forechecking. Buffalo needs to figure out how to get the puck into the zone and retain the ability to make a play... to that end, they must stop doing the dump and run. 2. Is it just me, or are the officials getting in the way a little more than usual tonight (by getting tangled up in the play, not by calling stuff)?
  10. You really think it was better than Vanek's no look backhand?
  11. Squid? Why would anyone bring squid to a 'Ning/Sabres game? Maybe you could paint a squid yellow and toss it so it looks like the Sluggalo.
  12. Briere's first hat trick..... who predicted that? Awesome.
  13. No, no, no! When I wrote that I was referring to the fans at the game who I could hear chanting LETS GO SABRES as they Sabres were slumping. Nice to have that kind of support when you're on the road.
