PASabreFan
How come no one says, "Whoa, he went four-hole on the goaltender!"?
scottnc
How come no one says, "Whoa, he went four-hole on the goaltender!"? How exactly are the 1-4 holes defined?
sabregoats
I always assumed that the 1-4 holes were the four corners of the net. Remeber those fabric goalies that stretched over a net, they always had 5 holes, the four corners and b/w the legs.
PASabreFan
I think he's wondering which one of the holes is the four-hole. Bottom right, I would assume. Four-hole. SDS can step in with a Paris Hilton joke now.

Corp000085
So it it goes through the side of the netting and counts, is that the 6-hole? That's "Getting LeClaired", just like a butterfly goalie "gets 5 holed" on a penalty shot.
JujuFish
I've wondered this as well. Sportsline's GameCenter shows the top right as 1, top left as 2, bottom left as 3 and bottom right as 4. Is this how it goes? IE: http://cbs.sportsline.com/nhl/gamecenter/l...0060601_BUF@CAR

IE: http://cbs.sportsline.com/nhl/gamecenter/l...0060601_BUF@CAR It usually goes top left is 1, top right is 2, bottom left is 3, and bottom right is 4 (which seems to be the way it was shown on the website, I think you typo'd 1 & 2).
