  1. I've never understood all the hate for Hull. The guy did his job and put the puck in the net. It's not his fault the refs/league didn't get it right. It's not like he said "I'm going to put my foot in the crease for this goal and see if I can get away with it".
  2. So I'm transforming a room in my house into a playroom for my kids. I was putting some shelves together and accidentally knocked the lamp over in the middle of the floor and broke the bulb. It was a compact fluorescent bulb, which I find out after the fact has mercury in it, although it's a miniscule amount. My wife flips out because mercury can be very bad for kids and I ended up having to get the carpet replaced doubling the cost of changing the room. That doesn't even contemplate the cost of the fact that she went through the entire house and threw out all of our fluorescent light bulbs and replaced them with incandescents.
  3. I had to work until midnight last night redoing my coworkers work that wasn't up to snuff.
  4. They do make a bacon alarm clock: Linky
  5. I love when versus puts on their "interview window" that takes up a good chunk of a bottom corner of the screen while the play is going on.
  6. Inky, I knew I could count on you to come up with a crude reference.
  7. I'm not sure I want you on my line with this kind of attitude towards the mods. ;)
  8. My heater broke new years day. I had a guy out the next day to fix it. The motor he put in has a bad vibration to it and he told me he'd replace it. That was 6 weeks ago. The excuses I've heard so far: 1) Part didn't come in 2) Family emergency 3) Lost phone number 4) Gout (my favorite so far) Was supposed to call me Monday or Tuesday this week to let me know when he's coming out. Surprisingly I haven't heard from him yet. I can't wait to find out what this week's excuse will be when I call him today. In the meantime my heater wakes me up in the middle of the night because it vibrates to the point I can almost feel it in the floor if I stand under where it is.
  9. I fast forwarded through the period breaks because I was watching the game late and apparently missed a girl fall out of her top.
  10. I realized. I traded in Rick for HD.
  11. I hate when play by play guys don't bother to learn how to pronounce the names of the opposing players. (I watched the Chicago fee on center ice last night).
  12. I hate the fact that on MSG's "HD" broadcast, not all of the cameras are HD. It sucks watching a game in beautiful high-def only to have them switch to the corner cam and have it look like crap.
  13. I had just been thinking recently that I hadn't had the feeling in a long time that when we're down in the third we're going to pull the game out somehow. Hopefully this game is a step back in that direction. That being said, we can't be taking periods off like we did in the second last night. We also have to start burying our chances. I guess that's a good thing, that we're generating some good chances and they'll eventually start to go in again...
  14. I agree. Let's put everything in perspective. Yes, we're not playing our best lately, but we're still 9 points better than the rest of the entire conference. They will snap out of this funk.
  15. I disagree. We got good traffic in front of the net and put the puck on net. Kalinin's shot was actually pretty nice, right in the corner.
  16. That and the fact that a lot of our shots were missing the net. We had a bunch of great scoring opportunities we didn't capitalize on. I distinctly remember Hecht firing one wide when he was right on the doorstep.
  17. You could tell from the opening face off they came to play today. The were hitting, fighting (and usually winning) the battles in the corners, and in general making things happen. The penalties were a little troublesome, mainly because they led to all three Ranger goals, but even strength they took it to them pretty good!
  18. Today they just need to show some of the hustle that won them 11 games so far. Last night that was sorely lacking. I distinctly remember two power plays we had where the Leafs cleared the puck and then beat us to it down the ice. That is unacceptable. Hopefully they've gotten their wakeup call and will come out flying today.
  19. I was thinking the same thing when I was watching the game. Why aren't they going upstairs?
  20. Holy cow... what a defensive effort... what goaltending... We scored on the few opportunities we got and made them stand. Here we come home, 2-0.
  21. I've gotta go with 1 - Briere 2 - Team - D 3 - Miller Briere earned it with two picture perfect assists. It was the best team defensive effort I've seen in a while. Miller gets it for the save off the tip where it hit the post after he just got a piece of it.
  22. I just hope the refs keep it under control in the 3rd. Someone is going to get hurt. Vanek is lucky he managed to do a sommersault or he could have been seriously injured. This is the downside to playing in a blowout. The losing team tends to lose their cool and take cheap shots.
  23. I caught part of the Ottawa game and saw him go after Alfredsson. It was totally unnecessary. Alfreddson was just trying to stand up for himself and Tucker just started punching him in the head. I just hope we come out of this game without any injuries as I'm sure there's going to be some bad blood.
  24. You know I have to admit, I was shocked when they said the Habs had 45 shots at the end of the game. I just don't remember Miller making THAT many saves. Plus I lost count on how many shots we blocked. Oh well, I'll take another W on a night we could have been beat.
  25. I remember that save... it was fantastic. I just remember shaking my head and smiling...
