I agree. It's nothing short of shameful how each group of 5 skaters we put out there could be that bad on defense and completely abandon their goalie. It's not the first time either, but as bad as we've been, this one might top it all. How can a coach let that happen to the extent that it does? Does he not instill it into the forwards' heads that their game should also be about defense? This team better show up in the 3rd period and show that they at least care.

One reason I prefer a national broadcast- you get a more honest perspective than the apologist ball-washers of the Sabres broadcast.

Especially when it's guys that have played the game at the highest level and know what good hockey looks like.

Bet'cha that Ellis himself would take the blame for the 2nd goal.  Yes, it was deflected, but it was rolling in slow and he was basically where he needed to be.

The others, not a whole lot he could've done.  You'd like to see him find a way to steal maybe the 4th or the 5th one, but this team is just awful tonight.
