I'm paraphrasing, but essentially he expressed the idea that the best environment for developing players is one where they are winning. When he said it, I was a little taken aback as it seemed (much like this comment on Levi) to not exactly be the company line. It's an interesting topic about the organization and it's presentation to the media. You do have to admit that in general they keep media leaks to a minimum. There does seem to be a reluctance of lower level coaches to go against the GM's opinions about players. Ryan Johnson is the one that comes to mind the most. When asked all last year he is the one the Amerk coaches pointed too as being almost NHL ready. It just seemed a little divorced from reality. Maybe Appert and Proposal were telling the media the truth or they just did not want a phone call for Adams. I have been having doubts about Levi for awhile. He plays on a team with good defensemen and I think that helps his numbers. He could get better but his size is not ideal. You had to know when they brought in Ellis instead of promoting Levi to play for UPL that the organization is no longer married to him. Maybe Appert feels a little more free to play who he wants when he wants. Maybe it's because Adams is on verge of getting the boot and Appert does not feel beholden to him. I don't think he want's to make waves but like he said it's team first and I am going to do what I feel is right to win. Good for him, Now do something about that tie if you want to be an NHL coach. I take a lot of this as marketing the player. They are probably open to moving him and having coaches saying his NHL ready helps in that regard, especially where he is at in his career. Quote

K-9 Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago (edited) Great save by Leinonen in OT to give the Amerks the opportunity to go back down the ice and win it, 4-3. Fiddler-Schultz with game winner. Edited 2 hours ago by K-9 3 Quote

Porous Five Hole Posted 51 minutes ago Author Report Posted 51 minutes ago Credit to the Amerks tonight. They were the grittier team the last 40 minutes and earned the tying goal with 2:55 left in the 3rd on the PP when they had to have it (Kuntar). Then after surviving a Hartford chance and a scramble in front of the net in OT, Fiddler-Schultz BURIED a 2 on 1 the other way from the scramble. No need to pass. Snipe show. Amerks down 3-1 after one and with their backup between the pipes and they grind out two points. Well done! Let’s do it again tomorrow. Quote

It's tempting but I'll wait for their game in Providence in April. Quote

Currently at Rudy’s at the edge of Yale University having a beer before turning in. Quote

Weekends the wait for a pie is insane! Edited 17 minutes ago by PromoTheRobot Quote
