To be fair, I had to think about it for a minute too 😂

I bet Skinner puts that puck in a nice case and displays it in his dining room.

Skinner playing in the finals IS something a lot of people predicated once we let him loose and he signed with the Oilers.  He has to be pumped.

Everyone should’ve been stocking up on as many ex-Sabres as possible.

If Skinner and the Oilers come through this year that will make it a well established pattern that other GMs will find impossible to ignore anymore. Lol

It’s a game again.

And McJesus just puts a dagger in their heart. Even before that goal I was thinking the Stars are having to expend SO much energy just to make up the two goal deficit. Against a team like the Oilers that makes you very susceptible to odd man rushes against. And here we are.

This is what Dallas gets for benching Lybushkin. The ex Sabre bump is gone.

The Oilers saw that and then decided to play Jeff Skinner to 2X the Sabre factor in their favor.

Who will it be next year. UPL? Quinn? JJP? Byram? All of the above? 🤣

If the Sabres were to trade all four to… Vancouver, let’s say… and then Vancouver won the Cup riding UPL… I’m out. I’m dropping hockey at that point.

The loss of Hyman does hurt Edmonton but that will now result in more playing time for Perry and Skinner. I’d make the Panthers a slight favorite but now the Oilers have the experience and know what it’ll take to beat Florida and win it all. I wouldn’t bet money on this final either way. Gonna be tight and could go either way.

In 2021 the Panthers and Oilers both lost in round one.  Since then, they have been the best playoff teams in the NHL. The Panthers have won 11 of 13 playoff series, going 45-27. The Oilers have won 9 of 12 playoff series, going 41-28. I don't think there is a lot to choose between the two teams.  Both play excellent D. The Panthers maybe have a truculence edge, but the Oilers are not short in that area (Perry, Kane, Frederic, Nurse). The stars on these teams won't be intimidated.  Bobrovsky probably gives the Panthers the edge in goal.  And then there is McDavid.  Should be great.

GMKA:  "Three firsts for Clifton".

Inquiring GM:  "Are you out of your damn mind?!"

GMKA:  "Do you want to win the cup this year or not?!"
