Ehlers has been bad all night. Mishandled the puck 3-4 times giving St Louis great chances, and that one cost them again.

Hellybuck seem to be drifting toward the short side on that one. His positioning was pretty bad for such a big goalie.

He's looked like UPL at his worst this series. He just isn't a good playoff goalie.

I guess this shouldn’t be unexpected. I think almost everyone would take Binnington over Hellebuck in a Do or Die game seven. Binnington has shown he can step up in critical moments in huge games and has won a Stanley Cup.

I feel bad for Winnipeg fans though

Feel bad for fans of the Buffalo Sabres.

Someone should tell the fans of Winnipeg that the “white out” gimmick aligns perfectly with the road team.

Yeah, that’s been a thing the whole series right though they’ve been misaligned the whole time

Wow.  The Peg goes to OT.

1.6 seconds. A crazy good re-direct.

They had two amazing redirects tonight

That first one was insane on the first goal

Damn, the Blues iced the puck too many times instead of just getting it over the blue line. They had this game.

They were great all period when possessing the puck too, and in the last 2 minutes they went away from it.  They tried for ENG or icing to quickly.

Back to back Game 7 stunners.

Great game, SC playoff hockey.

Lots of broken sticks tonight.

Helly was drifting slightly toward the short side again on that play— if not for the broken stick, this thing might be over. Top shelf over the glove just like the third goal.

A little history.

“The Washington Capitals played a legendary multiple-overtime game after midnight during the 1987 Stanley Cup playoffs. This game, known as the “Easter Epic,” was Game 7 against the New York Islanders, played on April 18–19, 1987. The game began on Saturday evening and ended at 1:58 a.m. on Easter Sunday after four overtime periods, making it the longest Game 7 in NHL history“

Was at that game. A Caps season ticket holder back then.

How many OTs tonight??
