Jiri Kulich Day to Day with a LBI for the Amerks

It sucks for him.

But also a huge part of the Adams cricism should be how absolutely mediocre the Americans are this year. I would be a little more upset if the team was a major favorite for the Calder and Kulich was the heart and sole of it all.

Ultimately it sounds like he will be back in pretty short order. He adds zero value to the big club as of today and the Americans are meh right now.

Hopefully he figures out the adult game soon.

From Kevin O (Amerks HOF beat reporter):

From Appert’s explanation, part of the thought process obviously is about giving Kulich some time off.

Since returning from the World Junior Championship in early January, he has gone 10 games without a goal, the longest stretch of his young career, and hasn’t been all that dangerous in many of those games.

“Last year I think he played 110 games between summer World Junior, winter World Junior, our season, rookie camp, training camp, playoffs right to early June,” Appert said. “This year training camp, rookie camp, our season, World Junior. And then the set up for the All-Star Game, you’re set up to crush these guys.”

They blew it by allowing him to go to the world juniors. There was no reason for it at this point in his career, and now it’s causing issues with the Amerks, his game, his health, and his ability to earn a recall.

It's everyone's dream to win gold for their country don't be that guy

It’s adversely affecting his season. I don’t blame him at all for wanting to go. But Adams needed to be the adult in the room and explain that going to the WJC and then flying across the country for the all star game was a terrible idea.

For Him or the Amerks ?

pretty sure he did the same thing last year and that turned out ok.

he was the captain of the team and learnt a lot going to the WJC.

Both. Did nothing for his career.  He went two months without a goal. Had he stayed and kept scoring, would he be closer to a call up? 100%. And as someone who listens to Apperts interviews, he’s made it very clear, without actually saying it, that he hated him going. It’s screwed up his year. And for what? He went to the WJC last year. How many second year pros go to the world juniors? It was a bad call.
