UPL has been dreadful on the PK(except last night). He has allowed 11.5 goals above average per 60 minutes...meaning if the Sabres were on the PK for an entire game they would allow almost 12 goals more than an average goalie by the end of the game. He needs to be way better. And way better at rebound control, which even last night he struggled with badly(second goal happened because of that)

UPL was given tapes on how Lehner handled the shootout and didn't hear that "this is what you shouldn't do".

Eye test & analytics both agree he has been dreadful on the PK (among other situations).

Hoping last night was the beginning of a turn around for him, but not very hopeful.

Just curious, how did St. Louis track when the went from last place to the Cup?

Binnington came out of literally nowhere and went 24-5-1 with a .927 save percentage and 1.89 GAA. It’s hard to see UPL replicating that, but through (Miroslav) Satan anything is possible.

But we aren't as far out of the playoffs and as late in the season as the Blues were. So we we still have a shot. Just no more losing streaks.

I'm hoping so too but expecting it to be more like even a stopped clock is right twice a day situation.

The craziest part was Lehner for the most part outside shootouts was pretty good. At times, really good. Even on breakaways...

He definitely had a case of the Yips on shootouts. There is no way you should be that good at other things and that bad at shootouts.
