Seriously, similar vibes to this? No, that was different. They were already good; the 1999 finals were in the recent past, and they acquired Drury and Briere a year prior to the lockout. We had an okay pipeline but it was amplified by the lockout: the mature prospects were held back one more year to develop and also with the next class of prospects. That's the kind of vibes we'll be seeing in a couple years when there is an infusion of drafted talent. But that begs the question: Who is our Drury/Briere? Is it Tuch? Krebs? Tage?
