I think the NCAA itself is broken. Specifically, the rules against athletes being "paid" specifically outlaw the athlete from receiving complimentary drinks at a bar. Which is why I envision the revenue programs existing outside the universities, as nonacademic businesses that trade on the history and tradition of the schools whence they came. Unlikely, I know.
