He was playing with the Pittsburgh Hornets in 1950 and had been in the NHL since '52 until his death in '74. When would he have found time to play and pose by himself for a Mapledale Party House? TTBOMK, he NEVER had hair that long and his face is a lot squarer. Company names weren't that prominent on equipment that long ago.
