  1. Noticed that too. I'm not sure he actually meant it to sound bad, but it didn't sound great. Whatever.
  2. Best part was Murray skipping all the BS and just saying "The Buffalo Sabres select Sam Reinhart." Didn't thank Philly; didn't say hello to the fans back home. Tim Murray doesn't have time for that crap.
  3. It's not tough, but we're still going to have to be on pins and needles for a week hoping the Sabres don't decide to get cute and screw this up. Being a Sabres fan is awesome, right?
  4. This is a good place to put the "Linus Ullmark can dance" video that Kris Baker posted earlier this week: http://youtu.be/nr0WNmdg0uw Plus I hear he can do pull-ups.
  5. Watching Kings-Blackhawks last night and hearing this news this morning is not a good combination. If you want to win the Cup, you need to be able to bulk up, be strong, and impose your will on other men. Is Sam Bennett going to be able to do that?
  6. As much as I hate "let's give everyone a trophy", I don't think that's what this is. Does anyone have a problem with 2nd place (i.e. conference) trophies -- or, for that matter, the existence of silver and bronze medals? They still recognize achievement. "Let's give everyone..." just recognizes participation, which is annoying.
  7. Funny part about the link is that there are multiple comments to the effect of "Well, at least we got rid of Stewart." I know Miller was trying to make a joke but he just sounded like an a-hole. Not great, Ryan.
  8. I'd be pretty happy if Day 2 of the draft came along and the Sabres had to decide between Demko and Karlsson at no.31.
  9. Best Photoshop of the season.
  10. This series is a strong argument for the Tank strategy. St Louis tried to build around depth. They lost to the team built around a 1st overall pick and a 3rd overall pick. Let's hope the Sabres hit some home runs with their high picks.
  11. It's a collapse when you start out 2-0 and lose the series 4-2.
  12. I can't believe a team with so many former Sabres is collapsing in the 1st round. <_<
  13. Islanders probably keeping their 2014 1st round pick: http://www.thescore.com/news/490349
  14. This would be his 2nd concussion this year, if true.
  15. Wow, I actually really enjoyed that column.
  16. Jaime's always been a scumbag. If they decided to make him more of a screwed-up scumbag on the show, that's OK with me. The "that's not in his character!" and "but there's good in him!" stuff is hilarious. For example, I just saw this on Twitter: The New Republic ‏@tnr 14m Yes, that was rape in last night's #GameofThrones. No, the show isn't ruined and Jaime isn't irredeemable. http://on.tnr.com/1pnpaYD No need to click the link. The tweet itself is ridiculous enough. Yes, Jaime is irredeemable. He's been irredeemable since the first episode. One of the weirdest things about GoT fans is the subset that decided they were huge fans of Jaime just because he starts getting 1st-person chapters in Book 3. Like "Oh, I guess he's sorta good too. Nevermind about the child murder!" Hopefully these people are never allowed on a jury. A serial killer could probably run free if he just showed them a few pictures of LOLcats during his defense. As far as shock value goes, this is a show where a pregnant woman was stabbed in the stomach and murdered in front of her husband last season (and then he was murdered in front of his mother and then *she* was murdered). It's pretty much what they do.
  17. Reading the recaps this morning, the funniest part is people upset that Jaime was portrayed negatively. REALLY??? Literally all of the events of this show were put in motion when he tried to murder a 10 year old. You're upset that it turns out this guy could do something horrible?
  18. I just want the Sabres to get the guy at the top of their board. Getting an extra 2nd or 3rd round pick is NOT the priority here.
  19. So if you're the Islanders, your choice comes down to getting Micheal Dal Colle (probably) or giving up on McDavid (and really anything in the 1st round for the deepest draft in years). If I'm them, I still keep the pick. Dal Colle is a great prospect. Also, flipping that pick for an NHL player would get them value and probably make next year's pick (which would be ours) less valuable. It sucks being in a position where your best hope is that your competition does the dumbest thing possible.
  20. In fairness, there's nothing heterosexual about the NHL draft lottery. #BornThisWay
  21. That's why it was a "steal." They somehow drafted three guys with one pick!
  22. Zero. It's called the Butterfly Effect.
  23. Is "unlucky" the absence of good luck or the presence of bad luck? This is only the latter. My plane just landed and I saw the not-lucky news. That's math for you.
  24. Wait, so you wouldn't defer then? You mean you'd let the Sabres have the pick this year? I like the point about them not having their first or second next year if they defer. The Isles do have Philly's 2nd next year as part of the Andrew MacDonald trade. So maybe that mitigates things for them. I'm also in this camp. But I'd never give up a top five pick if I thought I could get out of it. Oh well.
