We'll see. The concept of an 18 year old who busts his ass to improve his game (without anyone telling him to) and never takes a shift off is pretty nuts. He had instant chemistry with Larsson and he and Foligno were buddies immediately during the camp last summer. We at least have something that looks like the nucleus of a hard working team again someday.

End of the year Girgensons was completely different from beginning of the year Girgensons. He progressed really nicely this season. EDIT: Just noticed that Larsson got the assist on all three of Girgensons' goals in the playoffs. Add him to the "Amerks who don't suck" list.

There's a top 8 that I really like. Then there's a handful of guys just outside that top 8 (Shinkaruk, Ristolainen, Zadorov), and then there's a bunch of guys that are all sort of in the same category for me. The X factor in this thing is if we trade Vanek or Miller (or both), do we get another #1 coming back from someone? And would that #1 be used to move up? Would we trade three #1's for the fourth overall pick or something? Or if we trade those two guys for prospects that fill needs, maybe we can just to BPA with all of our picks at the draft and not worry about moving up at all.

Seriously. All the "outrage" about him not giving an interview is about the reporters feeling offended, not the fans. The entire press conference was about Sullivan's ego and Harrington's ego -- although they made sure to say they were doing what they were doing on behalf of the fans. Give me a break.

BTW, have we finally ended the debate on this board about the benefits of bottoming out? The last hold outs were still pointing to the Islanders and Oilers but they've had to cross the Isles off the list with Tavares leading them to the playoffs. Can we finally close the book on this thing or do we really need to see the Oilers put it all together with their young talent?
