  1. The Stars are playing the game we wanted them to play against VGK last night. Oof. The Sabres traded more than Eichel to the Golden Knomes.
  2. I think that's a function of him learning how to find space on the ice to shoot from, which is enabled by him playing center and also he's matured a lot in his stickhandling.
  3. I also think that KA expected to move him though, thus the one year contract the summer before. It wasn't publicized as much as it was with Jack (because basically Reino's a decent player) but I suspect that either KA previously identified Reino as "not part of the solution"/"doesn't want to play in Buffalo" or Reino told him that he didn't want to stay.
  4. I find this hard to believe in the context of some of the truly horrid Dmen the Sabres have had over the last decade. He isn't a generational talent but he's no slouch.
  5. What I've noticed lately is that the way he uses his size is similar to how that one big kid on the peewee team does among the smaller kids. Once he decides to exert his will he can pretty much do it. I don't think he means to but it sometimes looks like he's toying with opposing players.
  6. 1. I would not undo the Eichel trade. He wanted out before the injury. Right, but the question said what if he didn't want out? I can't really do the mental gymnastics about undoing either trade, but I can say that I like the direction the team is going now. I would also say that this last decade was at least as much about coaching as it was about those two players and who they were traded for. A Granato-type, culture-building coach who could institute a decent system of Xs and Os who get players to buy in might have been able to keep the dressing from from descending into the hell it became and salvaged the Sabres for both ROR and Jack. ROR and Jack failed because of management: GM and coaching. ROR got out in time but at this point I think Jack is damaged goods.
  7. For anyone who watched the VGK-DAL game last night, the Sabres are more effective on the rush and in the offensive zone than either of those teams. I don't think it's even really close. The advances the Sabres have made in passing are almost mindblowing. You can compare them to real playoff teams (and they've been playing a lot of them lately) and they clearly belong in that group. Not upper echelon yet, but really if they get decent goaltending and don't have major injury problems next year they should be in the playoffs, at least in the hunt. 5/1/0 outscored the opponents 26-16 with Andy and Toker in goal! fify
  8. So basically we need to find a $7M per year goalie to replace Andy.
  9. He's referring to how long it took Tage to provide a return to Buffalo on the trade I believe.
  10. Yes, the Sabres' passing is head-and-shoulders better than what we saw last night and I would expect the Sabres to beat either team head to head right now.
  11. Sabres could beat either one of those teams right now. The thing that stands out is the horrible passing.
  12. My cousin has an apron that says, "It's not a party until the kielbasa comes out. 1-1 Dallas ties it
  13. He is no longer the Sabres problem. Are you happy? 😉
