  1. I like Rousek too but I think Biro is the better prospect so far this year. I just think it's great that when we need to call someone up there are players ready.
  2. Greenway-Thompson-Biro I'm frankly surprised they're putting him on that line. maybe it's only the #1 line because Thompson is on it, but the reality is the 1st line is centered by Mitts. My thought of putting Biro in a protected situation with Tuch and Cozens is essentially the same from a physical standpoint with Greenway and Thompson I suppose but I still wonder about putting him on the (a?) top line. Maybe the thought is they he's scoring in the A and want to see if he can do so with the big boys in the NHL. And... what @SabresBaltimore said... don't mess with the other lines.
  3. I'm thinking he was genuinely hurt on the 20th. Toughed it out. Got re-examined and the doctor shut him down whether it was needed or not. The official story is it was a nagging injury and needs time to heal.
  4. You say that like every other team doesn't do it. It's called Player Management and all the cool kids do it.
  5. 11 days is a few weeks, innit?
  6. I thought it was due to injury.
  7. Actually I thought he missed a game during the season prior to this.
  8. I'm gonna say Greenway-Thompson-Peterka Skinner-Mittelstadt-Krebs Biro-Cozens-Tuch Girgensons-Jost-Okposo On the third line, less pressure, big boys to protect him, still a decent chance to score. Also, a chance to see if JJP is top-line ready.
  9. Nope. Never heard of it.
  10. Maybe neither?
  11. That is pretty much what Makar said in the postgame.
  12. He's got three "nicknames": 6K - pretty much only used on this forum I think. UPL - his initials, pronounced Yoo Pee El Oopie - his nickname used in the locker room; pronounced Oo Pee I think some people are conflating the last too and calling him Yoo Pee (U.P.) which is the version that's being confused with the Canadiens mascot. But I think that's a mispronunciation coming from a combination of UPL and Oopie.
  13. Makar said that the fall was his fault in the postgame interview.
  14. I think they retain one of Jost or Girgs.
  15. But by then, are Olofsson, Okposo & Girgs off the team? Are those the spots that the new guys take? It's probably gonna take 4 guys moving up to bump him off the team altogether.
  16. Something you don't see every day: A shorthanded goal with 12 seconds left in a tie game.
  17. His name has six Ks in it. Pretty straightforward. UKKo PeKKa LuuKKonen. Mmmkay.
  18. It happened in the UK though; they're probably not as desensitized to the violence of hockey.
  19. And/or: He'd work again, but only as a GM, and no team in their right mind would hire him as a GM. I think he and JBot could both work as an Asst. GM on the contracts side of things in the NHL; they both seemed to know that aspect pretty well.
  20. Not sure it would fit in with NHL guidelines, but I personally would not be averse to having the blue & gold away whites and black and red home goatheads on a permanent basis. As an old dude I have a fondness for the classic blue and gold but I think the black jerseys with red trim do make them look more intimidating.
  21. They got rid of Bogo and Kane.
  22. The thing is... depending on how he is with his personal finances he may never have to work again.
  23. It's also a question of roster spots. What do you do with Jost or Olofsson if you're carrying Benson and Savoie? Or do you waive one of the goalies? They're basically juggling the roster based on injuries as it is but at some point the injury music (hopefully) stops playing and everyone has to find a chair. And you can't just play Benson and Savoie in the AHL. Savoie is only there because he is on a conditioning assignment. After a couple weeks in ROC he needs to either move up to the NHL or back to the WHL; he can't stay in the AHL beyond that. And unless Benson gets injured he can't to to the AHL at all.
