Theoretically, What does a McDavid trade look like?
Doohickie replied to elijah's topic in The Aud Club
It's a dumb question because the cost would simply be too high. -

Which will mean they will have about $1.2 million left total to spend on 18 players. -
I just don't want you driving if your eyes are cattywampus.

He practiced with Tage. I expect Tuch to sit and Savioe to skate in his place. If Tuch goes, I see him on the third line, in place of VO. -

Annual expectations thread 2023/24: #71 Victor Olofsson
Doohickie replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
I'm going to change my assessment. Victor Olofsson is the Orange Cat -

But multi-year? VO's contract is up this year.

I agree, but I think that F depth will get better quickly as prospects develop and put meat on their bones.

I can't say I'm surprised since they had Savoie on the Tage line. If they thought Tuch would be ready to go they would have put a placeholder on that line and had Savoie skate with the linemates he'll be with tomorrow.

he doesn't fit the team identity. = Granato is trying to install a system that Olofsson just isn’t well suited for. These are essentially the same thing, innit?

Skinner-Thompson-Savoie 👀 That kind of tells me that Tuch is out and Savoie will go on that line. If Tuch and Savoie will both be playing, I would have expected Savoie to be on another line with his "real" linemates, and placeholder like Jost or Olofsson (basically the 13th forward) to fill in temporarily for Tuch just for practice.

This has been true for as long as I can remember.

When I name Quadrophenia among my favorite albums, many people are not familiar with it. This is a documentary (a little long... an hour) about the making of the album, what inspired it, and a few points I wasn't aware of. I really think it is one of the finest albums ever made. The full double album

Sportico Releases NHL Franchise Valuations Sabres are 30th

Newer arena? It's only 8 years newer... -
Would that shift the Sabres toward a situation similar to the one Edmonton is finding themselves in?

If RyJo is a 7D you actually want to play (led team in time played against CAR), you can rotate him through the lineup, giving the other Ds maintenance days to keep them fresher as the season goes along. I figure Power and Dahlin won't be part of that rotation unless they're dinged up, but it could take the pressure off Muel to be The Man alongside Dahlin and maybe he won't get injured as much.

Right, but you have to read the situation. Attacking, stay in, but if the puck comes out, take the opportunity to change. It's situation dependent. -

They wouldn't have gotten the Tuch opportunity, but they would have had fresh legs. We know which was more important now, and in the past the team has made a choice different than last night; it's typical for the Sabres to roll shift after shift in OT and maintain possession. -
I didn't copy the link, but while checking around I found an article/blog post that looked since 2000 and the only Cup winning NHL HC that had won a Cup with another team was Scotty Bowman who took the Wings to the 2002 Cup. All others who won multiple Cups in this century had their Cups with only one team. Scotty Bowman is who you're thinking of.

To the bold, I would say look at Casey Mittelstadt 2+ years ago. I don't think Krebs' ceiling is as high as Casey's, but I think there's more there. But on the other hand, do the Sabres have to wait to see what Krebs does in a couple of years or should we just jump over to the next prospect up? When Casey was developing there wasn't the same number of prospects pushing into the lineup. It's a different situation now. I tend to agree though: If he remains a Sabre, the 4th line is where he will likely end up.
