  1. I usually go to the Sabres game in Dallas every year. From the end of the first period on, this was the most uninspired, crappy version of the Sabres I can remember seeing.
  2. Matt Ellis needs to become the Matt Ellis of fired coaches. I think the whole staff needs to go but Matt Ellis shouldn't even travel with the team tonight.
  3. Just got home from the game. Thoughts- The Stars were the better team and after the first period it wasn't even close. Once the Stars got the lead they made sure they played defense. It wasn't even tough defense, they just got into position and waited for the Sabres to cough up the puck. In contested pucks, the Sabres didn't seem interested in contesting them. The power play was an embarrassment. In other games there was always that hope the Sabres would tie it up and take it to overtime. Not tonight, and it was obvious. le sigh
  4. @Spoonman and me at the game. So far, so good.
  5. Yeah, we weren't as close to the center of the path as Buffalo. I think the camera did auto-adjust a bit though too.
  6. That's why I use small words in my explanations 😉 This is the best shot I got of totality And this was just before totality. You can see a tiny piece of crescent through the clouds.
  7. 5 minutes before totality. Notice the street light is on. Totality
  8. It seemed different coming back on than going off, didn't it? Anyway someone posted this time lapse looking south toward downtown Fort Worth on reddit: I thought the clouds enhanced the experience actually.
  9. I'm fortunate to live in Texas Rangers country (although they lost tonight, but still leading the AL West at 6-3).
  10. On the TNT coverage one of the talking heads just said, "Buffalo checks...." Are the Sabres developing a personality?
  11. So I just finished watching the whole game (I didn't see the first half of it yesterday). Yes, Luukkonen was very good. But really the story of the game was how bad the Flyers goalie was. On Thompson's goal he was hung out to dry; not too much he could do there, although he did bite hard on Thompson's fake. But the last three goals allowed you expect an NHL goalie to make- two open shots from the high slot, and he actually pulled his right leg out of the way of Quinn's second goal an instant before Quinn put it behind him. He may develop into a decent goalie but right now the NHL is way too fast for him.
  12. He's actually 57. You can't trust Russian documentation.
