#Sabres Stafford to Blue Jackets for 1st round pick.

Don't be a Sahlen's product. -
It's weird, Canucks fans are this weird mixture of two groups on this topic: 1) Those who feel they got fleeced and have a newfound hatred for this trade. Those who hate Gillis are mostly in this one. 2) Those who are holding out and are looking forward to what Kassian will contribute when he's like 25 or something. Those who think the Canucks will continue to be hypercompetitive for the next ten years are mostly in this one.

If it's any consolation, many of the spectators of that sport rarely see injuries of that gross caliber. We've lived through the Malarchuks, Zedniks, Audettes, and Maxpacs, and watched them play again; we may be a little more conditioned.
-
Yeah, replays of that one are not for the faint of heart. Like Drano said, he lands, and maybe you expect the injury to be a rolled ankle or a tweaked knee,... Reports were that teammates were physically stunned, some even throwing up on the bench as he screamed.

Yeah, that post was after a good bit of whiskey last night. The spirit of the post was intended to be "there's players other than Ennis that deserve a ######load more criticism." I recognize and accept the fact that he's not above tradability (nor is anyone else on the team right now). -

Apparently when the team has frustrated fans for this long, the hate rotates through everyone because hating the players that are actually bad (Leopold, Stafford, et al) becomes quickly passe. So as the season goes on, posters dig down deep to derive weird reasons to hate other players, using reasoning that they hope will be perceived as novel, but instead ends up simply incorrect. These are posters that, if you put them in the position of GM of any given team, would destroy that team in a matter of seconds. -
Ha. Breaking news: the Buffalo Sabres have traded Ryan Miller and the 1st round selection of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft in exchange for Drew Stafford, Robyn Regehr, and a 2nd round pick from the Buffalo Sabres. Our problems are solved!

You guys really have got it all figured out. Ennis has eight points in his last seven games and is now third on the team in points and second on the team in assists. He might be the best play maker on the team right now. But go ahead and trade him because he missed his shootout chance. -
Oilers womping on Canucks. First goal 16 seconds in. Oilers went up 3-0 2:43 into the game; Taylor Hall completes the hat trick 8 minutes in. 4-0 now on FIVE shots.

It's been clear to me for a while that he's been busy trying to get player movement together. There's been scouts in the FNC and on the road for weeks, and: That last quote tells me he's not done, and I look forward to what comes next.

There's also something appealing to me about signing UFAs that we didn't draft and then trading them for draft picks. Free draft picks!

I'm happy with this. I hope he goes on and does well- he's capable of being better, but there's a small sliver of me that wants him to tank like Brad Boyes did.
-
Stop right there.

I thought someone might latch onto that, but I didn't post this earlier anyways. From that article: Maybe it makes a difference or not. Maybe it makes it more likely to be correct or not. That article has no substance- it contains no new information, doesn't quote anyone, and doesn't cite anything- and seems to be a knee jerk reaction to the knee jerk Miller trade rumors.

It's not that I hate him, I just can't fathom how anybody could think that window licker is good at his job.

All of this is for another thread, but Feaster's one the worst GMs in sports. He destroyed that Tampa cup team, and resigned before he could be fired, citing differences with management. During his unemployment, he blogged about how NTCs were the work of the devil, then signed eight players to NTCs when became GM of the Flames (in addition to the several that were already signed to them), sending that franchise directly to Salary Cap Hell. He traded away Regehr and a 2nd just so he could dump Kotalik's salary. He just traded the face of the franchise for two beans and a bag of rice. He's trying to push a youth movement in Calgary, except he can't trade his veterans and he doesn't have the high first round picks to do it. He tried to land Ryan O'Reilly with an interpretation of the CBA that would've had to be defended in court and could've folded like a house of cards, screwing the Flames out of a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd pick for absolutely no return. He's a ###### menace to Albertan society, and if I'm a Calgary fan working at a restaurant, I spit in his food.

I'd like to thank Aaron Ward for trolling the Bruins fans so hard. I get the impression that while Iginla had a preference to go to the Penguins, in no small part because of Sidney Crosby, Feaster completed the deal with them instead of Boston because the first round pick Boston was offering was conditional on Iginla's re-signing with that team. Penguin's first round pick came unconditionally. That doesn't mean that Boston's deal wasn't better, but the unconditional first is clearly what Feaster was after.
