  2. Chicago Blackhawks Three-Step Rebuild Model for Great Stanley Cup Success Step 1: Bury the owner. Step 2: ??? Step 3: Profit!
  3. I've been. It's fun, especially for hardcore hockey nerds. Tickets are free. Go the first night for the first round (of course), and then for a more relaxed atmosphere, check out the second day for a while. Wear your Sabres stuff so you can find other Sabres fans to chat with if you'd like. Reading that link makes it sound like tickets will be in demand. That definitely wasn't the case in Los Angeles (2010).
  4. Watched it a few times. When he starts to shoot, he does so with the intention of stopping in front of Price (to not overskate the net and to try to get any rebound; this is evidenced by his right foot trying to execute a weak one-footed hockey stop). But when he shoots he puts himself off balance, making it impossible to stop. He executes this really pretty close to Price, almost guaranteeing contact or an immense snow shower even if he does what he wants to do. But he loses it and takes him out. He probably could've skated through that play to the boards or stopped to the side of Price with pretty much no risk to anyone. Seem like he was playing literally on the (skate) edge and fell over. A little bit reckless, but not criminal.
  5. Yeah. Me too.
  6. Theoretically, the Blues could trade Miller's rights after the draft (or in an unlikely scenario, sign him and trade him), owing Buffalo a 2nd round pick. The Blues could then collect that 2nd rounder from the team they trade Miller's rights to, and it would get them out of trade pick debt. The question is, would any team trade a 2nd round pick for Miller's rights? Unless it's Garth Snow, probably not. And then still probably not.
  7. I would like to hear what Craig Patrick has to say first.
  8. Because if you hate on other players or teams or enjoy watching other players or teams get beat, you're a rock-throwing terrorist that will destroy the integrity of our internet in a most unflattering manner. Enjoy the schadenfreude thread.
  9. I read it was the right knee. I believe impacts hyperextend muscles and ligaments much easier than simply overexerting.
  10. Hadn't considered that idea before. I wonder if "Original Six" is being transformed into a euphemism for "large television market that the media can latch onto as deserving" at the expense of both non-traditional large television markets and all small markets.
  11. I enjoyed it. Glad to know Perrault still stands out in some people's minds in a historically-good context, especially at the national broadcast level.
  12. Open ice hip check, Ovi partially dodged/German player partially missed, primary point of contact was the knee: http://www.russianmachineneverbreaks.com/2014/05/18/alex-ovechkin-injured-at-world-championships-gif/ Ouch.
  13. Early reports indicate the injury didn't occur while he was back checking. Just kidding, I hope he's ok. That's not encouraging.
  14. Good call. It's not like rivalries are documented. There's been times when both teams in each of those rivalries have pounded the piss out of each other. You should be ashamed of yourself for willfully ignoring (some of the best and most meaningful, imo) Sabres history.
  15. See, we don't need to trade for a Lucic, we already have one.
  16. And boy would he slap it.
  17. I would not. What he brings can be assembled from another player or a small combination of other players, sans horseshit.
  18. I know we had the IIHF U20's in 2011, but it'd be nice to get the Men's here too sometime.
  19. Holy ######, Paul Stewart is knocking it out of the park, going two for two (see also: Sidney Crosby's not a great leader). He needs to get picked up nationally and get off that jerkoff blogorama.
  20. And that's before we execute many of our sweet picks.
  21. Well, Nolan did show a couple of flashes of trying to untank our tank, until Murray traded away the captain, goalie, leader in points per game, and arguably the hardest working 4th liner we had. But that's what we want on a young team, not what what we want in the tank. FIRE HIM! Then REHIRE HIM NEXT YEAR!
  22. Oh, I agree. It think it's possible to ingest a supplement without knowing what all the ingredients are, but as you said, it's stupid as hell.
