Plan backfires. Murray trades Neuvirth anyways, and you watch this team get reallllllly ugly. Bonus: we con someone into giving us anything for Lindback.
-
Patrick Sharp to Buffalo...?
-
What would you do, right now, as owner?

Hookers and blow. -
Murray's not one to use much hyperbole, so I'm thinking the proposal really was noteworthy in its unexpectedness. Cody Hodgson to Vancouver...? Anders Lindback to anywhere?

With where our 2nd is, and where a playoff-bound team's 1st might be, I rather move a BUF 3rd rounder. Stewart rental's worth more than moving 10 posts up into the late 1st, IMO.

I don't think so. He had every scout in the league in house tonight. Stewart scores and assists. Meszaros scores. Mitchell scores twice. Benoit doesn't gaff. He's primed for a fire sale this weekend to recoup assets for these UFAs. Sure, we take a two point hit in the tank, but once these guys are gone...

Strangely, that'll also be the face I make when we win the lottery.

No contrary opinion from me. Net neutrality is a cornerstone of the information age. Regulating those greedy like a utility is just a bonus.

Mkay. I'm good with that. I guess I'd have been surprised if he came out today and said no more UFA movement. Probably disappointed somewhat too.
-
I'm sorry, this is nitpicky , but I'm interested: did Murray mean "not all of the UFAs will be traded" or "none of the UFAs will be traded?"

Toronto definitely following Buffalo's tank model by jettisoning Clarkson for IR Horton.

He could be playing them in a pre-trade deadline showcase. Also possibly a tank move, but that seems unlikely with Nolan.

With Horton's contract not being insured, Kekalainen says it all: Toronto can afford that, Columbus can't. Real salary-wise, Columbus saves about $400k/year over the same term by paying Clarkson to play instead of Horton to sit. The only problem is that Clarkson's production has fallen so precipitously with Toronto, that he could already be a washup. And because Toronto has "escaped" Clarkson's cap hit by taking on LTIR Horton, MacKenzie and Dreger are already calling this a win for Nonis.

Neuvirth fined $2k for embellishment. Video. -
Eric Lindros sues former ref Paul Stewart for penning an article that "makes him look like a d1ckhead." TSN republishes most of the article. http://www.tsn.ca/talent/lindros-files-lawsuit-against-former-referee-1.215863 D1ckhead move, Lindros.

You're right. He may get shorter.

Why wouldn't it be? It's the playoffs of tankdom. Also, this notion, on an internet message board or in sports fandom, is ludicrous. -
