Part of me wonders if it should be Mitts that should be with Girgs and Okie. Both are players who will go to the hard places on the ice and battle, which is IMHO the type of player needed to compliment Mitt's game. They may not score a lot of goals, but since Casey is not demonstrating any scoring line proficiency, maybe rework his game defensively with a couple of grinders and maybe some offense can develop.

Didn't realize that Will Carrier already has 8 goals for VGK...always liked his speed and rugged game, but nice to see he's developed a scoring touch now.

If Casey or Victor were on the ice, then maybe it should be something they should consider....otherwise they are nothing but passengers tonight (again). Although Casey did make a nice backcheck earlier in the game.

Philosophically, I agree with you...but then again if this team is leading the league in scoring, then is there a problem? (aside from the Mitts line +/- issues)?

As Panger said....I kind of like the fact he stayed on his skates longer vs. going to a butterfly...he might do better if he did that more often???

Sitting VO and Casey seems like a great example of "addition by subtraction" I wouldn't mind seeing a package deal trade for a power forward and/or stay-at-home RHD.

Agree....not looking for goons, but rather players who have some skills themselves, can also go into the difficult places in the ice, win puck battles and stand-up for their teammates. I think this is especially important for playoff hockey.

This is the image I have in my mind of players who want to be here!

I really like the kid and have in the past questioned whether he has the hands to excel at this level. That said, I am really excited to see him proving me wrong and hope he can keep it up. I'd like nothing more than to see him perform at a high level so that people can forget about Trevor Zegras.
