Then I presume you wouldn't weigh in on which Buffalo pizza place is best and why ... ? Oh well then ***** him sideways. Haha - gotcha.

Disqualifyingly so. Also, I couldn't really get past him saying he's never had pizza from Buffalo and that his information was based on internet research.

What is Olofsson's role in the 2023/24 Sabres?

Ding ding ding. Gross. -
Ha - whoa. There's a Bob and John's LaHacienda in NF as well?! (I'm familiar with LaHacienda in Town of Tonawanda - that place is good.)

Lots of accurate Buffalo pizza knowledge in this post. I'll echo the Bob and John's take. They used to be definitive North Buffalo pizza. Nowadays, I find them hit and miss. And shoutout for sure to the old Mr. Pizza at Elmwood and Bird. Fantastic. I didn't know that Just Pizza grew from the Mr. Pizza stores. Just Pizza was reliably very good when they started, but, there again and like you, I find them hit and miss now.

I could not agree more. There's a whole bunch of caveats, [Robin Williams Genie voice] provisos, quid pro quos that could be added to my "you do you" take above. If you're serving Wings (and you're in a place where they're on the menu as Buffalo Wings), then you should offer the blue cheese side. If for no other reason, the blue should be available as a hat tip to the dish's origins, even if local palates don't command it. Like, if I'm ordering a gyro, there had better be tzatziki sauce available. Speaking of which, I saw some social media content this past weekend (from a clever creator, Sam Al Khatib (he's just great)) that made me realize anew that some significant percentage -- 20%? 40%? 60%? ... -- of Wing eaters out there in the big wide whirled do not know why they're called "Buffalo Wings."

I’ve arrived at a point in my life where I won’t shame, scold, admonish anyone for eating (doing) something they like, provided it’s not hurting someone. So the whole universe of “Ranch on wings?! Never!” Or “pineapple never goes on pizza” is gone for me. Eat what you like. And as Digital Underground once counseled: Dowutchalike (sp?) ( 🎶 I see guys and girls dancin’ 🎶) Now. Mind you. Will I ever get ranch with my wings or ask for pineapple on my pizza? Never, ever, ever. But that doesn’t mean someone else shouldn’t.

I think that must be the same outfit that kills it at the Erie Co. Fair, is a solid pre show meal at Artpark. They’re a food truck operator now afaik. Maybe they still have a store? Not “Buffalo pizza,” but still an excellent product.

The only decent La Nova pizza is at the original store on the lower west side. And even that is hit or miss. There’s so much fantastic pizza in Erie/Niagara, PA. It’s a shame you haven’t branched out to get a cheese and pep from any of Lovejoy (original store only, afaik), Carbone, Picasso, Blasdell, Bella, Di Paulo (Tonawanda), or La Hacienda (Tonawanda). That’s just a list off the cuff. Dominoes? eesh. Live a little!

I forgot @Huckleberry is overseas. My pizza “wtf” is withdrawn.

Franco's pizza is solid (but no more than that). It's also consistent and widely available. Sigh. Yeah. Leonardi's was quietly, consistently elite Buffalo pizza. I miss them.

I don’t get up to NF NY for pizza, but this Canadian Joe sure does. Here’s his review of Joey’s. He has dozens of reviews — I enjoy them. (Joes everywhere!)

Chad and other members of Buffalo Twitter had some content today - sorry can't link at the moment - suggesting that relying on a 21 year-old goalie (to start the season) to provide solid NHL minutes for ~30+ games is ... fairly without precedent. The name Carter Hart was thrown out there as the lone unicorn who managed to do it. DO SOMETHING, KEVYN.

haha - oh, sorry. yes. i gotchu. man, i would have been BEAMING to hear my adult kids run that one back. "we're don la maison." (sp?) also, birchmount stadium, home of the robbie.

It's a gem. It was released in 2017. Was the band performing it live prior to then? Or maybe your girls were older than you recall when they used to sing it?

Ftfy. I hear you. I've seen him perform several times. I was little when I saw the Plays Live tour with my uncle. Later, I helped pass him overhead when he jumped into the crowd at the So show at UB Alumni Arena. The New Blood Orchestra show was incredible. I'm considering whether I'm good with the fond memories that I have and whether I want to avoid the risk of tarnishing them with less than optimal experiences. Also relevant: To his credit, he's heavily featuring his new music on this tour. I've listened to each track he's released (upon each new moon? full moon?). They don't do much for me.

This is generally true. There are some acts that were able to melt your face (in a good way) even back in the late 80s and 90s -- Public Enemy was one of them. Boogie Down Productions as well. Caught their show at Artpark. It's become a summer tradition at this point. They are true professionals. And I mean that as a high compliment. They put on such a good show. Added bonus: The drummer (Tyler?) is always mic'd and is usually good for 2 or 3 random Irv Weinstein/Commander Tom/WKBW references. I used to feel this way, but have come around to what they are now. I've even opened up to the best elements of their new material. This one especially, which they performed at Artpark. A haunting ballad worthy of Gordon Lightfoot. As Ed said before they launched into it: "Say as many words as you can. I'll be doing the same." I was (am) a huge, huge fan. If I can get over my bad feelings from the So 25th anniversary show in Toronto, I may grab a ticket to this one. I'm on the fence for now.

MSG's Sabre Games: No Cable Needed Next Season
That Aud Smell replied to That Aud Smell's topic in The Aud Club
Yeah that checks out. When I canceled years ago (5? More?), I recall trying to haggle down a $140 line item for the cable piece. That’s almost certainly $200 now. So a few months of $30 seems acceptable. We’ll see. Does Sling package MSG? -
MSG's Sabre Games: No Cable Needed Next Season

When I cut the cord (several years ago), my monthly bill from what is now Spectrum (?) was many times greater than the cost quoted above. Otoh, it was a bundled package of some kind (cable, internet, landline?), so I can't recall how much the cable piece was. But it was a lot more than $30 a month, that's for sure. -
