Making a pass. And yes - from making a pass. While I hope and pray it's not the case, that torqueing movement could have been a proverbial straw breaking a camel's back.

all-time hockey nickname. also, a truly loyal guy.

My inference is abdominal. And my concern is one of those long lingering sports hernia things.
-
Fookin' just watch it be the presentation of a sports hernia.

New sheriff in town? It struck me as odd, by the way -- that Krebs delivered a body check to Thompson on the first day of camp.
-
wait - what'd i do? i closed the offseason thread. figured it was time to open this one?
-
Thompson also out?

I’m unfamiliar with how the Wilson Foundation has structured its giving. But I don’t think it was structured quite like this: Gifts of 5, 10, 20 million given to dozens of nonprofits - no strings, no conditions, no restrictions.
-
I can’t think of an act of philanthropy quite like it. $360MM. Given away. 82 recipients. Unrestricted.

I was in the cheap seats - I sorta didn't catch that line cleanly. But I put it together by inference. I give the man credit. All other billionaires should do what he did. Few do.

Peyton Krebs signs 2 year 1.45 million AAV contract

I love the system and logic associated with hockey nicknames. I just don't generally** use them when referring to players on my favourite team. **One exception that comes immediately to mind: Gates Orlando. "Gates" derives from "Gaetano." But everybody called him Gates. -
I attended the event this morning where Golisano announced his gifts of $360MM to nonprofits in Rochester, Syracuse, and Buffalo. What an absolute trip, since nobody who had been invited was aware of what was going to be announced. The money will mean the world to the agency that I was there helping to represent. Also, and I found this amusing, I was just starting to get over the sort of "out of body experience" sensation that overcame me -- once it became clear what the purpose of the event was -- when Golisano called out words of thanks to his wife Monica and asked her to stand up and be recognized. I had totally forgotten about the connection. So -- already a bit dumbstruck -- I directed my attention to the woman who was now standing up and waving to the crowd, and I was like: "Da fuq is Monica Seles doing here?!" Peyton Krebs signs 2 year 1.45 million AAV contract

Good post. And I hear all of that. Colour me more confused and amused by that segment of the fandom. I've got a nephew who's straight as an arrow, married, expecting a first child. And dude regularly and unironically texts me links to Instagram posts that are essentially thirst traps for various Sabres (Krebs is a favourite (and, for sure, my guy refers to him as Krebsie (both in texts and in conversation))) -- and my nephew often includes accompanying messages like "check out these studs" or emojis such as 🤩. -

I may need a reality check. This has become a pet peeve of mine among Sabres faithful -- using a player's decidedly hockey nickname when referring to the player. Maybe I'm just getting old and cranky. Definitely getting old, anyway. I mean: AITA? -

I've said it a bunch here: Quinn's my favourite player on the roster right now. I just love watching him compete and operate. He's gonna be SUCH a good effing hockey player for years to come. I do hope it's with the Sabres.** Quinn's game is going to be tailor made for the playoffs too. ** But, you never know, there could be some cost-controlled elite slightly underperforming prospect out there who might catch Terry's/Kevyn's eye.
