  1. Depending on which content you choose to focus on, sure.
  2. Oh, dear God. I see that it somehow gets worse, the more you learn. Like others have said: This was not an accident. It was an incident. And it's more than fair to say that a drunk driver killed the Gaudreaus. Let's set aside the degrees of manslaughter/murder for now.
  3. Jesus Christ. Just awful. RIP. May their family and friends be comforted.
  4. @deluca67 .500? (also, great post. thanks. good luck to your daughter.)
  5. I infer that you took my post more literally than I intended it.
  6. If Terry continues to operate with an internal cap and a feckless Opie as GM — and the team continues to finish in that 85 point (or fewer) range — he will soon be taking a run at the title of Buffalo’s all-time worst pro sports franchise owner. And that includes the Rigases and whoever moved the Braves to California (Snyder?). Whither such faith? Such hope? I’m sort of jealous.
  7. The closer the season gets, the more dread I feel. Regarding the Sabres, I mean. The approach of the NHL season isn't making me feel increased dread about life in general. Not yet, anyway.
  8. And then he and the Sabres just kept on shooting.
  9. As I think about it, Adams making a "big" hockey trade that doesn't seem to make much sense and keeps the Sabres on an ~87 point pace is quintessential of the Adams (Pegula) era. These are dark days, I fear. I just have a bad feeling about things. I'll call my shot now: 2024-2025 Sabres will make an heroic run to 87 points.
  10. 19 points over 18 games is an ~87 point pace. Am I missing/misreading something?
  11. He would immediately join the pantheon of try-hard-white-guys that are IRRATIONALLY BELOVED by a couple people in most fantasy football leagues (Witten, Beasley spring to mind). Those FFB contestants would clamour to have league rules changed so that they could select individual D players and pick Sean Lee 2.0.
  12. your posts have an enjoyable early 2000s blog vibe to them.
  13. I resisted it for a while, as I very casually watched the game. But as time went on and he was still in there, still balling out, I had to hand it to the guy. He every bit looked the part of an NFL LB. Was it just a flash in the pan? A moment in time? Or a sign of things to come? We'll learn soon enough, I reckon.
  14. Avett Brothers this Friday in Cleveland Town. An Avett show is quite like "going to church." I mean that in the proverbial way - not in a mundane way. Their shows (can) make you feel better about yourself, the world, and such. It's little wonder that their grandfather was a Methodist minister.
  15. I’m trying to catch a vibe with the Bills - for the fun of it. More soberly, I think they will do well to make the playoffs — especially as these injuries continue to mount.
  16. Nah. I prefer to catch a vibe. Kid’s gonna be a poor man’s Kuechly and be in the parade down Delaware Avenue. You’re just Little Bill Sunshine up in this thread, eh?
  17. Lol - dude’s gotta have a mouthful of a regional Chipotle’s burrito to finish the trick.
  18. I saw Pominville catching an earful from his girlfriend while he stared ahead blankly and chowed down on some Salsaritas at the corner of Delaware and Chippewa. …. Sorry. No. That was August 2009.
  19. I hear you. To be fair, though. the athletes treat *their own bodies* like machines. Camp Marv was a thing. But when you go to 4 straight Super Bowls, your team earns a light touch in the summer. Back to Samuel: When I watch WR’s train, I am always astonished that they don’t *all* break bones in their feet, develop turf toe, and/or develop plantar fasciitis. The stress and strain that they place on their feet are extraordinary — and wholly unnatural.
  20. Samuel week to week with turf toe. A key WR with turf toe in August. No bueno.
  21. That tape from the PIT game don’t lie.
  22. It was better than the Avett Brothers show I saw there in … 2022? The parade of motorized scooters - operated by persons with sour, disapproving faces - that left the venue when the band launched into their first foot stomper was a bit of a vibe dampener.
  23. Unprepared in the best possible way. I was (am) an Etheridge casual. I never gave her music much thought. Then she performed live and blew my effing face off. Incredible. Sorry to cause offence or upset. I was indulging in some tangents on Chautauqua Institution, generally. Fascinating place. Absolutely fascinating. Also, sorry for the typos. I should have reviewed that before posting. Edit: Your quote of my post seems to read as more garbled than my original post? Anyway, the olds acting like screen agers were very amusing to me.
  24. It’s a bit of a metaphor, as applied here. I apologize if this is causing offence. There is absolutely a sort of … doctrine and dogma associated with what I will call the Chautauqua way. And that’s largely to the greater good. Largely. Not entirely.
